Neil lennon

Celtic

Just came home from work and read this article. This really is desperation personified. I agree with others that this is a pathetic attempt by the Celtic board to appease the fans by bringing home the prodigal son.
It will make no difference to the way we play under WGS and the only thing that may change will be a blackening around the managers eyes when Neil gets a look at the depths we have plunged under his tenure.

Lennon left this club a winner, with a great haul of medals. He'll come back with a few games to go, Rangers on top and looking like they'll stroll to the title now. Rangers fans will lap this up, especially if he's around should Rangers win one or both of the Parkhead games which may all but get the engraver on the way to Ibrox and they'll get right on his back because err.. umm.. he wis a combative midfielder. I'm not a big fan of going back. Look at how the likes of Lou Macari and Dalglish turned out second time round at the club, and even they had managerial experience.

This move smacks of desperation by the men in charge to appeal to what they think may be the 'Celtic mindedness' of our crowd who maybe don't feel Strachan is good enough. And quite frankly makes us look pretty pathetic at this stage of the league when we find ourselves languishing.

Too little to late to try and instill a bit of steel to this sorry looking side. If Naka doesn't want to learn English, I'm not sure that the bhoy from Lurgan is gonna be able to give him a shake.

For those who think this is merely a swap for Tommy Burns, you've got to wonder what really a guy who was recently suffering depression will do better than a guy who actually has managerial and far greater coaching experience than Lennon. If Burns couldn't motivate this side then what chance Lenny?
Not to mention that this team should maybe give themselves a shake and realise that they should be playing for Tommy right now considering his illness, and if that can't motivate them, then what chance Lennon?

Desperate times.

Desperation, exactly what else can it be,or a pathetic attempt, to stir up the bigots on both sides. Cant see how it will work as another comment mentioned second time around seldom works and that goes for Smith also.

IT WILL WORK, IM SURE OF IT. LENNY HAS THIS INFLUENCE VERY FEW PEOPLE HAVE, HE CAN INSTILL IN TO THOSE PLAYERS EXACTLY WHAT CELTIC MEANS AND HOW MUCH OF A PRIVLEGE IT IS TO PLAY IN THE HOOPS

Neil Lennon is a decent addition to the coaching staff. I'm glad to have him back.

That said, the faster we change the helm the better. Nothing to do with WGS not being "Celtic minded" but due to his tactical ineptitude and desire to be more like Jimmy Tarbuck than Jock Stein. A Celtic manager needs class end of.

If TB had enjoyed a fraction of the luck the WGS has experienced when he was in charge.....and he produced ateam that was a joy to watch!

Thanks for everything you have done, I accept your apology now go!

Mr. Strachan, you had better start looking over your shoulder.

Disagree that this is a sop to the fans.

Neil and Gordon are known to get on, see eye to eye. My understanding is this move was engineered by Gordon.

I can't see how it's a bad thing especially if TB is out of action.

I Kind Of Agree With This Post We Need A Bit Of Push In The Saff
But I Think It is Also An Atempt to Get himself In With The Fans by Gordon Strachen

For everyone that is slagging this move off, I wonder has anyone actually seen Lennon coaching? You never know could be a natural at at, i'm sure with all his playing experience he knows a trick or 2, so give him a chance and lets see what happens.
