Right onto Sporting Lisbon

Scottish Premier Rangers
comment on the article

ok guys let's let the celtic fans go have a lie down after the weekend beating from the mighty Rangers and turn our thoughts once again to Europe....

Sporting have had poor league form recently though they too won at the weekend, their league position is not as good as it could be....Could this be an advantage to the Mighty Gers???

Also we have had the usual stuff from our European Opponents saying how they will come and beat us but we have the home tie first and our home from has not been too bad this season, Like the previous legs is the Home Leg as the first leg likely to be an advantage to the Gers?

With the tie at home who should WS play? what formation? will it be the trusted 4-5-1 or will he adopt the 4-1-4-1 formation we saw against Bremen at home with Dailly sitting in between defence and midfiled to great effect allowing the midfield to get further up to link up with the lone striker?

So guys what are the thoughts for thursday????

Very little posession as usual. Four defenders, six midfielders and no strikers. Almost zero technical ability from Rangers and an over reliance on 'nicking something from a set piece'. We all know what the game is going to be like and it's not going to pretty.
Rangers fans may be smiling now, but with trophies back in the cabinet will they continue to watch such dross next season? What they'd give for a Laudrup or Gascoigne...

Aye sure! 1 trophy out of the last 12 competitions entered for makes poor reading!Just enjoy it for now coz it wont last long when the Big Green Cheque book comes out and Rangers try their luck with the begging bowl.

Sick and tired of people commenting on Rangers so called negative play. Not exactly done too bad on the scoring front with 99 goals so far this season.

I am also sick of ceptic fans coming on and saying how they play much better attractive football. I bet the fans must be delighted that in their last 6 games they've scored 4 goals and 3 of them were against Gretna U-19!

As for tonight I think it will be a tight match between 2 evenly matched teams. I think 1-0 to the gers with JCD getting the goal!

WATP!

"Big Green Cheque book"

The same one that bought featherweights Nakamura/Mizuno. Donkey Hasselhoff, that Polish striker guy, Scott "Not as good as Thomson" Brown and the waste of £4m Hinkel?

STRACHAN MUST STAY!!!!!!!

And we rarely score from set pieces. We destroyed Werder at Ibrox with some quality play and should've won 3-0.

As a Bolton fan and having seen Rangers a few times on Setanta I think you will win comfortably as long as you don't sit back too much or allow too much space for their creative midfielder with the pony tail. There passing was shocking at the Reebok. If we had had Anelka I think we would have progressed.

I was only telling it like it is. However, there is no doubt Rangers have done well this season. Despite being boring to watch, you can't argue with their results. My point was that for the money the average punter pays for a ticket these days, the entertainment factor should be higher - and I'm not just talking about Rangers.

Definitely hope Rangers will win and go trough..

Because that would mean PSV can play them in the semi's, which makes the road to the final for us a little bit easier! (plus PSV- Ranger would be a better game to watch then PSV- SL..)

So good luck tonight!

Hey BulenoseDiva, I take it therefore you don't go on the Celtic threads then, as you'll find that the opposite is just as true. In fact sometimes there seem to be more Rangers guys like you on our threads than Celtic fans...just saying
