United looked very good today.

Four goals, could and perhaps should have been more.

Rooney and Ronaldo looked like they were really enjoying their footy and the rest of the team played really well as a unit.

The goals went to Ronaldo, Tevez and two for Rooney, who could have had more but happened to stray offside on a couple of occasions.

Ronaldo's goal was an AMAZING backheel, Tevez scored a decent goal, and Rooney took his really well.

The only imperfection was Giggs going off with a suspected injury, probably a precaution for the Roma match, and even if he is injured Nani is playing very well and is more than capable of filling in.

To be fair to Villa they did have a few decent chances but nothing great, and nothing they could convert.

United look good for the title on this performance, and reacted especially well after Arsenal won. Chelsea play tomorrow but for now United are 6 points clear.

Thoughts??

I think Carrick is a better player than Barry and I am a villa fan, I also cant understand why Capello who wants a good passing team doesn't want to play him, it's perplexing. After utd bought him they won the league after some barren years, not just a coincidence. He is the most underrated england player of the current generartion.

owen is crap always has been always will be, just face he has always been an average player with limited ability, no one wants him and benitez could not wait to get rid of him, only england fans and the media think he is any good he would not make the united 11, plus he is an outdated striker, teams want forwards who can be an influence on and off the ball and when they have the ball they must be able to hold the ball and create chances like what torres rooney tevez eto'o drogba does and what bergkamp zola cantona cole yorke done in their prime.

i dont want to drop down to your level so i will explain

you mention different types of players than owen, you cant , compare rooney to owen- or gerrard to owen(i will keep it simple and only use your bigged up english players)- but neither have performed at international level like owen(yes they have done it at champs league- but not international)

owen in his prime played awesome in the prem and the spainish league- his goal ratio is unbelivable- he allways came good in a vital england game(a big match player)- it is sad that we still have to relly on him, because he is too injury prone and past it
personally i dont think you can remeber him because your too young!

you are dead right I am comparing rooney to owen, torres has shown he has far more weapons to his game then micheal owen who is teqnically one of the worst players ever, owen symbolizes everyhing on how average england are, ask rooney who he would play for average barry beckham owen j cole or scholes ronaldo nani tevez there seems to be a gulf in class in terms of talent, the only player out of those four england players that exite me is j cole.

owen and rooney apart from the fact that they both play as strikers are chalk and cheese

i will make one simple point for you!

one scores loads of goals

one doesnt

but i still love rooney!

i totally agree with the fact that us english need to start improving on tecnique, there is a gulf but that isnt the point i was arguing!

so you arnt backing yourself up and are just sounding like a bad record

you underestimate the qualities and achievements of one of the best finishers in recent football history

rooney scores goals but rooney is more then scoring goals, rooney can run with the ball he creats chances and he does so much hard wark, rooney fits into the style of play of united while owen cant score goals out of nothing, he stands there and waits for the ball not good enough and is average.
