Why drag United into this!! There are teams that get more luck with refs such as Chelsea! But of course you jump on the anti-united bandwagon! Probably cos you are a bitter city fan!

oh my god
ive been going to birmingham for quite a long time now (and i know most of the desicionswent to birmingham but..), and until today i thought the worst display of refereeing was by uria renny but not its rob *rubbish* styles

I agree - if he was a manager he would have been sacked long ago. Time for Keith Hackett to show some bottle and relegate this joker to schools football.

I think you'll find a couple of key decisions went against Chelsea at OT this season.
An awful penalty decision yesterday.
Worst decision of the match was to appoint a female commentator on MOTD!

watching the game live the feeling was that styles managed to get more decisions wrong than right. at the end of the day the losers are the paying fans whose entertainment is spoilt week in week out by poor refs. As always the F.A have the ability to improve the situation by using t.v. replays [as in Rugby] to help the refs; they wont as they still get their share of the gate money, and can afford to ignore the views of the paying spectators.
in the end the refs [we hope] do their best, they like the spectators are let down by he F.A - who are the ones we need to change

I was near the front opposite the dug outs, one peeved supporter said to the assistant referee "Come on, help him (Rob Styles) out", he turned to us and with a wry smile, shrugged his shoulders.

If thats what his assistants think of him, where does that leave the rest of us and the integrity of the game.

How dare you calling him an idiot. Who made a comment about "Liverpool is the best team out of the 17 teams bla bla bla" when the thread was about Masch's red card. Do you get a different version of this BBC website in Moscow or are you just a thicko(you started it).
Anyway R Styles has got a habit of giving imaginary pens. Most refs are being consistently rubbish these days.Sir AF would have agreed with this 2 weeks ago.They need sorting out, suspended, fined, sacked.Think the main leagues in Europe should share refs.

One point that seems to have been missed is that Styles got the red card out and ran straight past Quedrue! He got as far as Jaidi, who protested his innocence and then Styles appeared to check with someone via his microphone before showing the card to Quedrue. If he cannot tell a black man from a white man how can he be sure he got the decision right in the first place. I am a City fan and it was an awful decision to send the guy off, right up there with the penalty decision he then gave against us!

In light of the Masch debate I would also point out the game was delayed 2 and half minutes while the sending off was debated and nobody was even booked - which is actually a miracle given the fact Styles loves to book people.

Separate note on bookings, I just read that Tommy Smith was sent off once and booked three times in his career!! Can you imagine that in todays climate?
