originallambrettaman (U8617052) posted Mar 27, 2008 He had a ropey start, but after a less than impressive first game, he has improved match on match. More importantly for us, we lost one of our first choice centre backs, just as he arrived, so without him as cover, we may well not have continued our run. Hopefully, our centre back is available for Watford on Sat, but we'd still have liked to have hung on to Clem for the rest of the season. Can't blame you for wanting him back though !

Lummiepie (U1361457) posted Mar 27, 2008 As a Bristol City fan I would much rather see him on the bench at WBA than in Hulls team. He is a quality profesional and no disrespect we could do without Hull sticking there nose in to our promotion push..... infact can everyone in the top six just stop winning please to help the Mighty Reds over the line?

wrighteous (U8032768) posted Mar 27, 2008 This is a major blow for the tigers, Clement was similar to Brown at centre half and complimented Turner well - the result was that there was not much fitting in to do for him here. If we do not get cover for Wayne Brown we will be struggling. I hope Brown is fit to play against Watford, otherwise we will be down to Walton at centre half - I do not rate Walton at all, he is slow and does not read the game, it is played around him. Walton and Turner are too similar in height and pace, I fear the ball over the top could undo us. The long and short of it is that Phil Brown needs to sign a centre half on loan sharpish, preferably a guy with a lot of experience in the top two divisions to see us through until the end of the season. Phil Brown has got about 7 1/2 hours to do all that in...it should be no problem!!!

bluebarsidebob (U7403703) posted Mar 27, 2008 It is possible that WBA had other motives for ending the loan. Still, it will be interesting to see how Hull fare if they can only play their own players developed from their academy. Or maybe borrow some more, or in the summer nick more on freebies and cheap from small clubs?

originallambrettaman (U8617052) posted Mar 27, 2008 Definitely some sour grapes there bluebarsidebob, but for the record, we have a very good youth set up now. Our reserve team is made up of local academy lads(and some returning injury first teamers of course) and are currently 4th in the reserve league. Many would benefit from some competitive League One football next season, so give give us a call. Comment on this article |
