To Borophil
In my opinion YES YOU ARE

I cannot understand why we are not able to get a better playmaker than Rochemback, he can be good but is so inconsistent, that I think he wants away.

I've got to say that Rochemback's performance against Cardiff was unbelievably poor. I don't think that any neutral watching that game on TV who didn't know what nationality he was would quite believe it when told that he is Brazilian.
I think that he has been pretty mediocre for us at best and certainly no top EPL club would want him.

We desperately need to sort the midfield out, apart from Downing, none of the others create or score goals.
Would keep George for another year though, sometimes need a player like him when things arent going to plan!

Well said mnixon
On current form I would keep the Boat as well, it might also help us sign Mustapha Riga who I believe is a mate of the Boat.

Give boat a one year contract extension due to his current form, try and sign Riga and Bullard. Then O'Neil has competition on the right or can possibly be moved into the centre.

I don't think that we need to make more than one big signing in the summer. Whatever funds are available, I would use it to buy a central midfield playmaker of real quality. I think that this would be the final link in creating a very good team capable of scoring more goals next season. I certainly wouldn't want to see Southgate spending it on a number of average players which will not make a lot of difference to the team.

i must say, should boateng go - it would be a sad day. he's been a brilliant servant for us, and scored some crucial goals (the winner against spurs to clinch europe a few years ago to name just one). boateng represnts the 'new' boro we've seen over the past few years and should he go gareth should look at getting him on the coaching side asap. but to be fair to george himself a decision should be made quickly.
as for a long term replacement, cattermole is first choice. but i'd like to see someone like shawky been given a bigger role
and what's happened to jonathan franks? last i heard he was the next big thing???

I think that we should definatly try to keep george boateng in the summer coz he is 1 of the few players that actualy plays for his place in the team week in week out!! Rochemback tho is not so commited and doesnt perform enough atall in my eyes and would not be missed greatly.
