Im actually talking about Fed worshippers Djoko haters and not about other members who just dont like Djoko's game for any other reason.

"Now Fed worshippers have found their new hated enemy:the talented young Djokovic simply because he has contributed much recently to the end of Fed's era of unilateral dominance."

Er, that's a slight exaggeration is it not? Djokovic beat him in Melbourne, yes, and last year in Montreal - twice out of seven meetings. But there are others who have "contributed much" recently including Murray, Fish and Canas.

I'm not a 'Fed worshipper' or a 'Djoko hater' - I just think Fed has been the best player of the present era and certainly one of the best of all time. I wouldn't put Djokovic down to raise Federer up - but you are in danger of doing the opposite.

Steph,
I'm with you 100%, and am not surprised that we are in the minority on this forum.
For some fans here it's obviously impossible to like a player who beats the guy they support.
I can understand that, although I myself have never had the problem of congratulating the better.
I don't think Federer will dominate Djokovic, he is slower, older and less sharp, law of ageing.
Of all the slams this year, Federer has only a chance at US Open.
He simply won't have recovered and tuned in his form for Wimbledon, and has absolutely zero chance at RG.
Personaly, the only guy whose tennis I enjoy at the moment (apart from Novak's) is Tsonga's, Federer's game is only good to watch when he is in perfect form, and Nadal is at this best truly only on clay.

laugh I have to laugh at these noobs. I've disliked Djokovic since the USO 2005 because of what he did in the Monfils match, and I can assure you I'm no fan of Monfils. I've been criticising Djokovic since I joined this forum, which is long before you and the rest of all his fangirls joined (surprisingly that was right after he won his first Slam, funny that).

Djokovic reminds me a lot of a more consistent version of Safin. He doesn't have quite the explosiveness off the backhand that Safin has but he hits the ball with heavier spin and therefore has more consistency. He also returns and moves better than Safin. Personally I like watching a player who can play defense and hit winners simultaneously from the baseline. What I don't like to watch is the grinders like Wilander or Borg who can't end points and simply win through speed, fitness, and consistency.

i think djokovic is a joy to watch, as is federer. i do feel they have the talent and skill to dominate in the game; admittedly, though, federer has not been playing like himself of late...something is obviously amiss in his game.

but my favorite player by far is nadal..while i do believe that he must concede (on the hard courts) to both djoko and the fed, i think his hard court game is steadily improving. his respect for players and his humility IMO is what puts him over the top of the other two.

I'm constantly surprised how much Djokovic bashing there is on this site and just had to join the debate and add a comment.

For those who attack him as a person, his comments, family etc. haven't you noticed that he always praises and gives credit to his opponents during award ceremonies and interviews. He shows a lot of respect on court (unless you think it's travesty to say that you can beat Federer). And if he has ample self-confidence it's precisely what gives him the belief that he can compete with Federer and Nadal and win. Is only Federer allowed an aura of self-confidence and utter belief? Especially considering that the mental factor is one the most important things in reaching the very top. I find that Nadal is much bigger in defeat and classier when talking about his opponents than Federer.

I stay up all night to watch Djokovic's game because I like his style. There is an element of suspense in how easily he can turn his game around when he's loosing. His serve is becoming an amazing weapon (yet it never resembles Roddick's sledgehammer aces), he is putting a lot of effort in improving his volleys, and I find a real elegance in his strokes. Yes, he does do a funny abdominal motion on his backhands but all great players have some unique traits (this includes his ball-bouncing and I'm positive that he does that only to increase his focus. Anyone who plays tennis, even on the recreational level, will recognize that they have their own set of obsessive quirks). The point is that Djokovic does everything well and for those who have read his comments (without prejudice) he is keenly intelligent and aware of what he needs to do to further improve.

I'd rather watch his sort of demeanor and youthful pride in himself (even when he comes across like a jock) than Federer's restrained and almost mocking "I'm invincible and don't you forget that" smugness. What is so classy about that? Nadal has shown more class and humility in handling his stature.

And for those who complain about Djokovic's hair?! You really have to feel seriously threatened by his arrival to be nitpicking so.

The guy is an entertaining (and positive) character and has enlivened tennis. Just deal with the fact that he's here to stay.

I guess Borg must have been pretty smug too then. tennis fan, seeing how Borg has described Federer as a "kindred spirit". In any case, there's an easy way to avoid seeing Djoker ... don't watch his matches laugh

Hi Bolton - A week ago you said I a problem finding Davy's game exciting to watch but, have you had a chance to wach yesterday's match objectively?

Hereis what I had answered. How timely that was, wasn't it?

"I actually feel sorry for you if you cannot appreciate davydenko's tennis. It is beautiful to see a frail, flimsy player dictating the game and tire to exhaustion more robust, fitter players. If Davy had a serve, he would be number 2 in the world...and was extremely close to beat roger on more than one occasion last year. All down to his "weak" serve unfortunately. "
