Browse: Golf Colin Montgomerieby U10385627 - banned alt ids (U10385627) 23 March 2008 Some player in my books but I think the chances of him winning a major have all but gone. Do you think he could still make a good contribution playing in the next Ryder Cup side or would you prefer him on the sidelines advising and motivating? His best chance will be at the British in the next 2 to 3 years It will probably be too difficult in America as he has never once won on US soil. If his putting could just click for one week he has a great chance on any British Open layout. He seems to putt so badly week in and week out. He's also lost some distance off the tee. These guys that think one major is better than 10 order of merits are smoking some good stuff. Tell that to Ian Baker Finch or Todd Hamilton or any other one time wonders.

Shotrock (U9295849) posted Mar 31, 2008 Monty -- Great Ryder Cup player, but other than that a deer in the headlights when he plays here in the states or in any major. His big chance was when he had the island of manhattan left of the pin on his final hole in the US Open at Winged foot and what does he do from 170 yards out? Dumps it short right. His grumpy attitude doesn't help much either.

He's an arrogant grumpy old man. It serves him right he's been overlooked. he can go do a running jump. Give up and retire Colin, nobody wants to watch fat old men.

balsyan (U11404192) posted Apr 1, 2008 his tour card should be taken away. He has no right for saying who should and who shouldnt play in a tournament. If he cant perform he should go practice and get his head sorted out.

gillidanda (U3626458) posted Apr 1, 2008 Everyone, including Monty, has an automatic way of playing, that is to be one of the top 50. Monty unfortunately has failed. If your are outside the top 50 then the tournament organisers obviously use other criteria and no one can complain. Comment on this article |
