World champion Kimi Raikkonen kicked his title defence into life with victory in the Malaysian Grand Prix.

The Finn passed his Ferrari team-mate Felipe Massa thanks to a stunning lap before his first pit stop, after which he dominated the race.

Massa spun out of second place, gifting it to BMW Sauber's Robert Kubica, with Heikki Kovalainen's McLaren third.

McLaren's Lewis Hamilton was held up in his charge from ninth on the grid by a pit-stop problem and ended up fifth.

Are you sure about that because in the past it's been illmor engines.
Mercedes simply now either own it or have a large stake in Illmor which is located in Northamptonshire UK.

63' Tiger,

I am not British. But I like BBC and you can’t stop me from using it. I happen to live in a British colony and love all British sports. As for support, I like all good drivers and any great battle on the track is most welcome.

By the way, Maclaren is using a German engine

Maybe ITV are going overboard on Lewis Hamilton but i dont blame them!
He is the best thing that has happened to F1 for a long time (if you take out Schumachers 6 boring years) and he is English!

Anyone would do it!
I bet the German & Spanish shows and media were doing the same when Schumacher & Alonso were champions!

Infact F1 was nothing in Spain before Alonso and now they have 2 grand prixs!

So ITV can talk about Hamilton all they like and the people who dont like it will have to put up with it smiley

Toyota .. that team which has just finished 4th! Meaning obviously they are a much better team this year!

No one can take the micky out of a team this early into the season! For all you know Toyota could produce results like that every race and finish high up the table this year!

Then you will be eating your own words!

I totally agree with you, I happen to have access to a lot of channels, and understand six languages pretty well, and when I watch formula one on the italian national station ie. Rai. They comment the race based solely on their beloved ferrari, but they never ask to themselves how come they don't have a valid formula one driver, I happen to understand also Spanish and they base solely the race on how alonso is doing, so why should england be any different? This is part of the business of journalism, remember Tv stations want audience, so how can they attract people if there is NO biased comments, people want to associate themselves with the person they are watching, so what's better associating to a person based on nationality, if you watch and listen to Itv - hamilton, and other brits, if you hear Rai - Ferrari, etc, objectivity is not an option with the ridiculous ethical values journalists have nowdays and IT DOES NOT matter which country the journalist comes from.

Thank you for agreeing!
A good point to prove this is the opening to ITV's programme!

It has all the British drivers!
