WHAT LIKE WAYNE ROONEY who dstroyed a world class defence in a way beckham never did or could hope to?Rooney took france aprt in that game and we would have buried them at 2-0 if "becks" actually had the bottle and stature not to bottle it during a tournament where all id said about him was shown and vindicated 150%.All the garbage his supporters said about how hed finally turn up against top class opoposition was blown to pieces that summer and its a joke they still think they have a argument.

Great, power and dwight have shown up. I guess I'm not going to comment on Beckham any longer, as I'll be here forever. All I have to say is, it really doesn't matter, England will at best get a draw against France. France has got some great players, but their coach is an idiot. The only reason why they got to the finals was because of Zidane.

did lampard have a gd tournament in 06? or rio? joe cole did, admittedly, but west ham players are financially rewarded to the point where they believe their own hype, and don't achieve.

by the way, i think bobby moore is the greatest english player to grace the game.

how do you compare rooney to beckham when they are vastly different players, we all know how god rooney as, all im saying is that beckham was not the only player not to perform. i dont think beckham is/was world class, i just think he is a good player, so i dont see ho the blame can be fully leveled at him. but you're clearly intent on hating him, so theres no point in having an objective argument here

Note to everyone, power is illiterate. Where did I say in my comment that Beckham was a world class player? Besides, Raymond Domenech is an idiot, and only and idiot like you would be so gullible as to see that just because he got to the finals means that he is not an idiot. Tell me power, who in their right mind picks the out of form Barthez over the more consistent Gregory Coupet? Who in their right mind includes Vikash Dhorassoo in their world cup squad. If he was such a good manager, why was his World Cup qualifying campaign so bad that he had to convince Zidane and Thuram out of retirement? If he was so good, why did France lose TWICE to scotland both HOME and away? Tell me power? you obviously are some narrow-minded fan that fails to look at the big picture. According to you, Rudi Voeller must be a great coach, even though he couldn't hold a managerial job for 3 months in the Serie A.

- no, YOU are an idiot, unless you could have got france to the world cup final, you cannot comment on somebody else achieving it, especially with frances average age. he masterminded victories over spain, portugal and brazil, all of which were quality teams, not to mention out-wit luis felipe scolari, something sven could never do.

Tell me power, who in their right mind picks the out of form Barthez over the more consistent Gregory Coupet?

- you what? barthez is second of all time in terms of world cup clean sheets, he only needed a clean sheet on the world cup final to beat peter shiltons record. he kept two CONSECUTIVE clean sheets against brazil (98 and 06), the first goalkeeper EVER to do so. i think domenech would know more than you.

Who in their right mind includes Vikash Dhorassoo in their world cup squad.

- why, do u watch his performances? have you seen his ability? are you in a position to say whether or not he should be in?

If he was such a good manager, why was his World Cup qualifying campaign so bad that he had to convince Zidane and Thuram out of retirement?

- yeah, GREAT idea that paid off because the greatest player of modern times and the most solid defender in the world, not to mention the best defensive midfielder in the world (who made the role his own) went on to show that they still had ability to play at the top level! if they hadn't performed well, you would be on here criticising domenech for selecting them!! you can't have it both ways!! doh

If he was so good, why did France lose TWICE to scotland both HOME and away? Tell me power?

- why did england lose to northern ireland? or draw at home to macedonia? or lose at home to croatia? france still got through the qualifiers, didnt they?? more than i can say for england.

- no he wasn't a great coach, but he was a world cup final away from achieving something that only beckenbauer had, and that was to be part of a world cup winning team as both a player and a manager, to me thats a legend in ANYONES book.

and you call beckham a 'great' player in comparison to the above players mentioned laugh

you need your head checked.

Spain!! the under-acheivers of the world? Portugal, who were so terrible in the world cup that the only way they got past the dutch was because the Ref decided to give a yellow card to every player on the pitch?! Brazil, one of the most dissapointing teams in the world cup?! These were quality teams that didn't perform in the world cup power!

- you what? barthez is second of all time in terms of world cup clean sheets, he only needed a clean sheet on the world cup final to beat peter shiltons record. he kept two CONSECUTIVE clean sheets against brazil (98 and 06), the first goalkeeper EVER to do so. i think domenech would know more than you.

So you want a Barthez who before the world cup didn't even consistently start for his club team, and flapped at nearly every shot that was right at him ahead of Gregory Coupet who was consistently the started and is vice-captain of the most dominant team in France, Lyon?! The only reason why he got those clean sheets is because the French defencse consistently stopped Brazil from even getting a decent shot.

- why, do u watch his performances? have you seen his ability? are you in a position to say whether or not he should be in?

Yes, unlike you, I DO watch football. Look what Dhorassoo is doing now? not playing football. He was b!^@hing to Domenech over playing time, and that's when Domenech realized he was crap.

That was my original point power, the only reason why he got to the finals was because of Zidane, not because of him. The only credit he can get is for convincing Zidane to return. I think he's better of going to the MLS and convince Zidane out of retirement again, as that is what he seems to be good at doing. If I could convince Zidane out of retirement, I could certainly reach the World Cup finals with a team with Henry, Thuram, Abidal, Ribery, Coupet, and Trezeguet.

Also he didn't use Trezeguet until 20 minutes before the end of the match?! Yes the same Trezeguet, that has terrorized Serie A defenses and scored the gold goal against Italy in Euro 2000. It was not until his last group game that he used Trezeguet because France was on the brink of being eliminated again from the group stages. See power, he almost failed at even getting to the knockout stages.

- why did england lose to northern ireland? or draw at home to macedonia? or lose at home to croatia? france still got through the qualifiers, didnt they?? more than i can say for england.

If you read my original comment I said that they have great players. THe players are what got them qualified.

Besides what does England's qualifying campagin have to do with France? English players are like the EPL, over-rated.

- no he wasn't a great coach, but he was a world cup final away from achieving something that only beckenbauer had, and that was to be part of a world cup winning team as both a player and a manager, to me thats a legend in ANYONES book.

So let me get this straight, you admit he wasn't a great coach, but had he won the final he would have been called a legend?! You are the most hypocritical person I have ever met. That's like saying Beckham is a legend for reaching 100 caps. The fact is, Voeller wasn't a good coach. How does that put him in the class as legend?

-and you call beckham a 'great' player in comparison to the above players mentioned

you need your head checked.

WHERE HAVE I SAID THAT IN MY COMMENTS?! CAN YOU STILL NOT READ POWER?! DO YOU NEED TO GO BACK TO PRIMARY SCHOOL?! It's obviously way past your bed time. I suggest you take a rest and actually give some thought to what you write.
