Well done Mackems, your boys deserved it. The Villa's display was better than it had been against Boro but still a long way short of our best.

The signs were there in the first half of the season that we needed strengthening in January. Our paper thin squad can't cope with injuries, suspensions or loss of form. Yet when we had the chance to push on and compete for 4th we signed a Spurs reject and let go one of our promising youngsters.

The season is in danger of petering out very badly indeed, has the lack of ambition at the top spread down to the players?

thanks for the sporting comments from the villa lads. Don'tr think you'ere in freefall though, but someone needs to persuade you're manager that 16 first team players just isn't enough these days.

im a chelsea fan, i hope sunderland stay up too, iv gota lot of time for roy keane since hes gone into management.
villa, when u play us u have aright gud go at us, yet when u play mna united u lay down n die, just as u did in the FA cup, i bet when u go to old trafford u dont draw 4-4! i bet u lose 4-0 or sumthin, typical!

carefree - a major difference between playing chelsea and man utd - man utd are quality (and I really can't stand them so I don't enjoy saying that) whereas chelsea are a bunch of expensive individuals wanting to be football's answer to the harlem globetrotters.

its great to see fans who know their team didnt play well admit to it. we've got to keep this morale going especially when we know that we can play well away from home.

Well Im A Villa fan that was at the game today and to be honest Sunderland just wanted it that much more. I spoke to some Sunderland fans after the match and they were over the moon, they even lifted my spirits!! Great, passionate fans, I hope you stay up!
