Heidfeld And Alonso Blocked By Mclarens

Formula One
comment on the article

Heidfeld And Alonso were blocked by Mclarens when they were on their hot lap. Both Mclaren cars were on their in lap and on racing line and going very slowly. Other like Webber, Kubica, Massa and Raikkonen were off line. Heidfeld (BMW) definately have pace for 1 lap so I think he could have finished atleast P4.

Mclaren also taking up dirty tricks like Ferrari.

For those who did not see the incident. Just check on board shot from Heidfeld car camera. Ridiculous!!

McLaren have accepted the grid penalty. There will be no appeal by Mclaren.

FIA is to be blamed for cars running slow and trying to save fuel by that.

Was Heidfeld blocked? Could he have done any better?

Those other 4 cars were not impeding the other drivers.. they weren't on the racing line and would not [of] Have, it's HAVE you IDIOT...! bothered either of the drivers. To be honest, I think Hamilton's penalty should [of] Have, it's HAVE you IDIOT...! been less than Heiki's, or none at all and the teams should of been penalised constructor's points, since it was their prerogative to warn the drivers.

Justice has prevailed. Races are won on the track and not on having other drivers penalised.

Congratulations to Mclaren for finishing ahead of Heidfeld and Alonso the chief complainants that saw both the Mclarens starting eigth and ninth on the grid.

Andy,

You've missed the point....

McLaren were not punished for driving slowly... They were punished for driving slowly, on the racing line, whilst there was a car on a qualifying lap behind them, and as such, blocking.

Frankly, McLaren were at this in Q3 at Melbourne too, but then no-one else was on a fast lap.....

I fully support any rules that stop cars from driving so slowly though!

A grammer Nazi, that's the last thing we need here. I also take exception to being called an idiot. I can guarantee I know more about these cars and this sport than you do. I guarantee it! Now, why don't you toddle off and play in the sandbox. Forza Ferrari.

This topic is still open!?!?

McLaren themselves admitted being at fault ..though not intentionally, so why the debate i wonder..

Stewards get far too involved in the racing for me. 2 years ago Schumacher was penalised with nothing more than suspicion after a spin, last season Lewis benefited when Alonso was penalised, this season he too has fallen foul... I think it detracts from the spectacle of the racing.
