Uefa fine Lyon, Bolton and Everton

comment on the article

Uefa have fined Lyon £2,520 after Manchester United's Cristiano Ronaldo was targeted with a laser pen during their Champions League tie last month.

The incidents at the Stade Gerland both before and during the first leg of the Champions League last-16 tie on February 20 were reported by United.

And Uefa's Control and Disciplinary Committee imposed the fine for "incidents of an unsporting nature".

There was no suggestion Ronaldo's health could have been affected.

Uefa made the decision after studying reports from referee Luis Medina Cantalejo and Uefa delegate Jan Damgaard.

Meanwhile, Bolton and Everton have also been fined by Uefa.

Wanderers were fined £5,000 for crowd disturbances during their Uefa Cup match against Atletico Madrid on 21 February - Atletico were fined £15,000 after fans threw missiles and fireworks during the match.

And Everton were fined £2,520 after fans invaded the field and three missiles during their Uefa Cup match at SK Brann of Norway on 13 February.

Bolton can appeal the decision, but Everton's punishment is final.

the fines should mean something, or they just shouldn't bother!

we use laser scanners at work and if someone shines one in your eye, it's not funny. it hurts your eyes, can give you a headache and makes you feel kinda weird for the rest of the day. it would definately affect a top footballers performance if the got him right with it!

No, firing laser beams into someones EYE is scientifically proven to do no harm at all. Would the idiot who wrote this comment like to play 90 minutes of football with me shining a laser beam into his eye and see if he sticks with his comment?

this shows how stupid manchester united are favoured. im 100% sure that if this happend to liverpool, arsenal AND EVEN CHELSEA!, there would be no action taken. it's so obvious that man utd have bought the CL already. they're too crap too win it themselves. in 1999, look at the added time they had! why else do u think they drew roma AGAIN? 7-1...remember? the draws were up on the internet 30 mins before they even happened! MAN UTD ARE CHEATERS! simple as that.

I feel sorry for the majority of people on this board who come up with crap like that!

We didn't buy extra time, if knowledge serves me, it is the ref who signals the amount of time to add on, not Peter Schmeical, not Jaap Stam, not David Beckham, not Sheringham, not Solskjear etc, so we didn't buy the champions league at all.

And FYI the draw was done on SSN and THEN posted on the internet via their website and then all the other sports sites. How can a live draw be fixed?

Ask Fergie how it was fixed. Btw, when BBC was there "live", it was on the internet 30 mins ago. If it's "live", how can it be up earlier?
