People are saying Khan may be a 3 weight champion and prove better than Naz, hope so, Naz was a chump! he would make a big entrance, somersault into the ring, disrespect his opponents and as soon as he fought someone decent he got beat. His Chants in the ring used to get my goat too.
Khan has started the talk and again as yet he hasn't fought anybody, Warren as usual will see to that, Like Naz the money will come pouring in by fans deluded by this razzamataz but when eventually, Khan steps into the real world of boxing he will get well beaten, possibly by even Rees! If he steps on to the plate with Ricky Hatton it will end his carreer and Mr Warren won't want that to happen now will he!

Why are people talking about Rees boxing Khan? Khan is comfortable at lightweight at the moment and ought to stay there. Aside from the fact that Khan's at a different weight class from Rees, he's also at the formative stage of his professional career. Rees isn't.

It is sad that Rees has chosen to call out a junior professional from a lower weight division at the early stages of his career in order to advance his own. Rees (literally) ought to pick on someone his own size and there isn't a lack of them in the UK. The question of why Rees isn't angling for a shot at Junior Witter, or Ricky Hatton, or looking abroad to the likes of Malignaggi, or Ricardo Torres, or Vivian Harris is best answered by his own camp. Team Calzaghe is endangering their own fine and hard-fought reputation with this rubbish.

That notwithstanding, Naz was a great boxer who took a risk and was outclassed but remained dignified in defeat. Don't you remember that interview after the match with Barrera? There's no shame in losing to Marco Antonio Barrera in any circumstance and Naz did so very graciously. Naz was, furthermore, exceptional with the timing of his punches, which allowed him to generate a lot of power on impact.

Well actually people are talking about it because Khan said he would love the fight and he's the one that called out Rees.

the calzaghe camp have lost 2 world champions in the space of 3 weeks, rees got proved to be out of his depth by a decent european fighter,i hope joe calzaghe beats bhop well he must as bhop is an old man in boxing terms and if joes loses then he will be very embarrassed and in my opinion his so called lecacy will be ruined.FACT. hopefully this is another case of a british fighter stepping up to fight a real american fighter only to get exposed.heres hopeing.

Rees got beat! No real surprise there, but he is still good enough to beat Khan. Naz, Naz, Naz Alah be praised got his come uppence. Barrera looked at him wasn't phased by the hype and did an easy job on him. The author is not stupid just says it the way he sees it.

completely agree about the clown prince.

Can't agree about Khan, his seems to improve fight by fight. and his speed is phenomenal.

Don't forget how young he is.

I have always suspected that the Calzaghe camp were punching above there weight, (no pun intended) with Rees following Maccarinelli in losing I suspect I was correct.

Joe Calzaghe being the obvious exception

Khan is a superb talent who is getting hammered by "critics" who want him to fight a world champ before he's even ready. The expectations are so ridiculous. Khan is confident, not cocky. He did not call out Rees, it was Rees that first called him out. Khan simply responded like any self-respecting boxer would. And he's far more talented than Rees and I'm sure when he's ready, Khan will blow him away.

Who was Gavin Rees anyway?

A domestic-level fighter with domestic names on his record, that's who, who took his chance against a lackadaisical M'Baye and claimed himself to be a true world champion, saying that after he beats Kotelnik, who was a proven tough guy, that people would give him respect. Well, he, Enzo Calzaghe, and Frank 'The Plank' Warren YET AGAIN, ate their words, this is a great result, true fighters like Kotelnik holding the world belt.

As for that faded fighter Hamed, well, the sweetest thing about how he lost to Barrera was that Barrera beat his mind, and Hamed couldn't take that. Barrera deliberately schooled him over 12 rounds to add to the humiliation, so that made it 20 times worse for Hamed, and finished him as a paper champion, and destroyed his ego from the Pedestal down to the Has-beens and never-really-weres. Yes, Hamed was a hard puncher and had some good names on his record, but the big names he had were all on their way down.

But seeing this is about Khan vs Rees, maybe Khan should fight Rees, if he's still not ready for the true world stage, which he probably isn't. After all, Rees would be a good name on Khan's record, but what would that prove? Virtually nothing. And Khan's still not proven anyway.

Hamed was a decent enough fighter but he was a total idiot. Barrera schooled him and I think it finally hit him that he wasn't on the same level as he'd been talking about for years. He was just plain annoying.

I've never rated Rees and wasn't a bit surprised that he lost last night. I think Khan should take him on, either way one of them would be shut up. On Rees' part, would of been much wiser calling Khan out after yesterday's fight should he have won because now he looks like an idiot. I think Enzo Calzaghe's hype is starting to fade. He has one World class boxer in Joe. The rest are nothing special. Maccarinelli was never going to beat Haye in his wildest dreams.

I can't believe that Juan Diaz lost his 3 belts to Nate Campbell. That win was a total fluke and I think that's definately the best road to go down if Khan and Warren (He needs to go) think he is actually ready. Like most people, I don't think he's proven himself enough to fight on the World stage and from what I've seen, should he fight anyone decent, he will probably lose. Although, maybe that's not such a bad thing.

Now, I don't think Khan is nearly as good as he thinks he is or as some other people think he is. He's good, not great. I don't think he's ever going to hit legendary heights but I think at somepoint he could win a World title or 2.

I think the problem in the Newbridge gym is that Frank Warren and Enzo Calzaghe have discovered a bubble wrap shortage.........
