Bentley in his ONE game did more and provided more than Beckham did in his first 2 YEARS IN an england shirt-Whe Beckham scored his FIRST GOAL IN SUMMER 98 v colombia it was his 1st meaningful contribution sicne his debut in 1996-WOULD BENTLEY OR ANY OF HIS REPLACEMENTS GET SUCH LUXURY OF PRESSURELESS OPPORTUNITY?YOU HAVE GOT TO BE JOKING.
--------------
Bentley like it or not did contribute any goals or any assits in is one game - so your wrong

what he did was have a good game, against the swiss, at home, in a freindly, when the goals came from other players

same old dwight - ignores questions that prove him wrong and lies in his posts and the expects to be taken seriously laugh

finn, please explain to all our listeners when Beckhams first goal and contribution came in his international career. You will find, sir, that it came 2 YEARS AFTER HIS DEBUT-he was that irrelevant despite getting all his extra dead ball chances until he scored his 1st v colombia in summer 98.Now in Bentleys FIRST F***NG GAME there were cre tins like you shouting abuse at him and moaning because he didnt get all his kicks right-thats the level of delusin and deception there is around Beckham and you dare accuse me of lieing. The thing is,these are people and "fans" who have no knowledge of our game other than what they knbow about their favourite "becks"-and are clearly taotally ignorant of how you have to bed in players at this level-Beckham himself let me reapeat needed TWO YEARS of being allowed to freely error and underperform until he becaome comfortbale att hat level.People such as them you and others who will now see any possible beckham replacemenbt hung drawn and quartered after one or 2 games make me sick to the stomach about your outright ignorance of how this game works.

there's more to football than goals and assists dwight, i seem to remember most people were perfectly happy with beckhams performances, I certainly don't recall mass swaiths of people talking about how useless he was.

dwight
Beckham may have taken 2yrs to score. But so what? His performances ( he didnt start all the qualifying games ) were good, especially in turin in the last game. Bentely played well, but didnt show that he can immediately fit the bill. Therefore, what is the problem with Becks and him sharing the position? SWP has played numerous games for England, depsite the odd goal and decent performace against minnows at Wembley, he doesnt deserve another chance yet.
Why not let Becks HELP Bentley take over his position?? If Becks plays agianst France and is crap, do you not think Capello will drop him? I do. But, I think the thing that sticks in your throat more about the whole thing, as I mentioned earlier, is that you will have been 1 of the 'fans'/'people' who were applauding Mclaren for dropping Becks and then whinging when he came back - But I'm sure that being true to yourself you were still slating him when setting up crucial goals in the qualifiers.

no youre wrong,i know now as i knew then that if england are to properly move on from the past and develop then the cancer of beckham must be cut once and for all.You seriously think beckham wants to "help" bentley or any potantial replacement?-you must be off your rocker,Beckham knows deep down he never achieved anything that will stand the test of time and go ionto the history books so he is desperate,DESPERATE to get that 6th tournament chance to try once last time to not be eternally earmarked as a 5 times tournament let down of a player.

Bored.

Beckham has achieved as much as any other england player of recent times as a collective - Nothing - However he has achieved far more than the rest personally.
He could well retire now and look back on a glittering career. But because he doesnt and constantly becomes a cancer in your life you hate everything he is.

more lies, players such as Owen and Rooney and Butt and Hargreaves have proved themselves tournament class-Beckham simply never has.

If he plays well enough to warrant a place what is the problem?

If another player (ie Bentley) proves he's the better option then he'll play.

There are so many players you can wave the 'not performing in tournaments' finger at.

Yes he is hyped up more than other players, that's because he is successful in other areas which makes him more newsworthy, fair play to him, i doubt you'd have turned the opportunities down if in his position.

Just don't let it get to you so much, take a deep breath, calm down.
