He surely is something special and if anyone disagrees, id like you to argue that which you surely cannot!

Anyhow, great win for us tonight especially since we've opened up a little gap. Credit to Bolton for frustrating us though.

CMON UNITED!!!

yes he is the best player in the world. congrats. shame you have a one man team and when he goes you are rubbish lol. oh and dont kid youreself. you're not champ league quality

_____________

He goes/doesn't play and we're rubbish? Check the last time we played Arsenal, we completely done them over and he wasn't even in the squad. That just proves you wrong, have a nice day.

And Man Utd aren't a Champs League team? Without an injury hit back 4, we would have met, and easily beat you in last years final. If Man Utds players didn't die in the Munich air disaster in 58', you wouldn't have 5 European cups, so count your lucky stars you do.

I'm out - thanks for coming.

All I can say on the matter is that if Man U didn't have him, they would be lucky to be challenging the top 4. You've got an awesome squad but it seems that Ronaldo on his own is gonna' challenge for the title.

Sorry giggsowns9, it wasn't meant to be a derogatory comment, it's just a case of he's that good. I hate the guy more than most but he's quality.

And I only said it as he seems to be single handedly taking the title challenge to Arsenal and Chelsea.

Good Luckok

Main point being that look at the game at the Reebok. Of your defeats how many has he played in?

It looks like he has a bad day and Man U have a bad day. Although to be fair, that rarely happens.

Ok i see your point there mate ok. I just don't like it when people say without this player we wouldn't even be challenging for the PL. TBH, we'd probably play more as a team if Ronaldo wasn't in it. Look at the Arsenal game for example! We beat them 4-0 with no Ronaldo which just proves that Ronaldo isn't the only guy with an eye for goal. I must admit that at the moment, he looks like the only player who is going to score for us. Maybe the rest of the team are a bit goal shy at the moment.

I think you'll find that Rooney if our most influential player as he really makes United tick. Unfortunately, he isn't in the best form of his life right now but i do hope that changes very soon. In fact i hope it changes on Sunday! Of our 5 odd defeats this season, Rooney hasn't played in any of them.

Anyway good luck to Bolton for the rest of the season ok

Yeah can see your point as well mate. Ah well, it's gonna be tight at both ends this year. It looks like ronaldo relentlessly wants to drag you to the summit. How many points would you have lost this season without him?

As for our lot, who knows? Keeping the fingers crossed.

Cheers pal.<OK>

On the Xenephobia point you immediately identify the crux of your hatred for Ronaldo as predicated on Nationality:

‘Ronaldos talent is not in doubt but as a true Englishman and England suporter I will always hate him for his antics in World Cup 2006.’

If you or I make negative comments about the English/scotish/brazilian national team that’s fine, if I do so because I think its my duty according to my nationality that’s a purely xenophobic argument.

Yet you complain:

‘Dont call me xenophobic mate, I was commenting on an individual, not a race or particular group of people.’

Apart from what I said above you seem to think comments directed at a race of people can be xenophobic- no that would be racism…

Here is that definition you have failed to locate.

‘A person unduly fearful or contemptuous of that which is foreign, especially of strangers or foreign peoples.’

-----------------------------------------------

Brett

Firstly, at least someone knows what the word means.

Secondly, maybe you should try politics as you have made an admirable attempt at moulding what I said to the definition you have given.

It would appear though, you have contradicted yourself.

I am not, and was not at all (never mind unduly) being 'fearful, or contemptuous of any strangers or foreign peoples' - or group of people as I stated(theres the contradiction). Nor was I being critical of Ronaldo because I felt it was my 'duty' to do so as an Englishman.

Neither had I failed to 'locate' this particular definition I was completely aware it.

Merely, as an England supporter I still find some distaste for Ronaldo as an individual because of the world cup incident, as very very many people still do, despite the fact that he is without doubt an outstanding player.
People still feel the same about Maradona and the 'hand of god', thats not Xenophobia its simply (rightly or wrongly) feeling cheated at a sporting level.

Aside from this, you will find that some explanations or definitions inform that sometimes Xenophobia is confused with Racism, although they are different things there are obviously elements that are similar or the same. Both are at best ignorant and unacceptable to me hence my indignance at the accusation, particularly by people who appeared not to know the meaning of the word (I dont mean you by the way).

Nice try, though. smiley

I know you are all a bit of a strange breed, is is down to the fact that most of your fans are not from England? Somebody please help me to understand.
