England keeper battle wide open

International
comment on the article

The battle to be England goalkeeper is wide open ahead of the friendly against France on 26 March and Micah Richards gives his opinion of who should be number one in his his latest column.

The England defender talks about his times playing in front of David James at Manchester City and answers some of your questions about Joe Hart, the current City custodian, who was tipped to win a place in Fabio Capello's squad when it is announced on Thursday, but has just been called up by the under-21s instead.

Next week, Micah will be talking about how England got on against France, so if you have any questions for him on that subject (or anything else) then please submit them below using 606 and I will use as many as I can when I next speak to him.

Just to remind you, Micah doesn't participate in the discussions on 606 himself.

And, as always, I will completely ignore and probably delete abusive posts.

Thanks,

Chris

I personally think that Micah Richards should keep his thoughts to himself on who should play for England !
It cannot help him as a young player to be involved in Football Politics, as we all know that Capello does not particularly like the Razzzle and Dazzle that the modern player dwells on !
I think that the Media Circus that surrounds Beckham is also his downfall, so beware young Micah if you wish to play for England !

Micah and Chris Benvan.
Taking my chance to quiz Micah is always fruitless
My question is: do you like answering fans questions?

Reading the comments on here the ones the journalists give you dont do you any favours.

It amazes me how many people write in and say Micah should keep his thoughts to himself in response to a column that they have the choice to read or not. He's interviewed for his opinion, he gives his view, if it's not the same as yours so what? I'm a City fan but I don't really care what one of our current players thinks, but I would defend his right to say what he thinks and question the merit of the column in the first place. Get some perspective people! He's a young lad with a lot of talent, but that doesn't necessarily equate to good judgement off the field. I agree with some of what he says, and disagree with the rest. I bet we'd all be the same if it was our column.

There is nothing wrong in advising Micah to be careful what he writes !
It is in his best interest to let his feet do the talking.

Micah,

You've made some good suggestions on who you think should be in goal for England, and I am sure you have an opinion on who should take the other England positions, but what's your Premiership 11?

Micah, I admire you greatly as a young player, but I would strongly suggest you decline from commenting on the selection of players.

As others have said, how would you feel if another player in the England squad said they thought someone other than you should be in the England XI?

Micah?

Over the easter period, you will have no doubt noticed the vast army of chocolate rabbits on sale in supermarkets. Eggs, fair enough but rabbits?!

As a child, did you ever find eating chocolate rabbits a traumatic experience?
