It was printed in the News of the World yesterday that Mark Hughes is going to offer him a contract until the end of the season, it says MH & all the coaching staff are very impressed with him on the 14 day trial he has had with us and he looks very confident & composed with the ball.

I feel this would be a great signing, we need more an establish & experienced defensive midfielder since selling Savage, he is in a different league to the 'axe' Mokoena and increased competition for places is a good thing, some of the midfielders need a kick up the backside!

What is everyone elses views??

Bonsoir, mes amis.
You 'ave signed Sarko's neighbour, Mr Bird. Ma Swiss friends down ze route nationale use the words like "reliable, tidy, composed" and for free no Euros, nor your sinking pound. Sparkie strikes again.
And here is the great news ! Sarko will see Mr Bird's debut, for surely he will be on ze bench.
For Sarko is coming to Ewood, yes ! Business takes Sarko to London (not to see your lovely Queen, non, zat is the other one - the short one) and as a treat for Mde Sarko (non, not the glamorous Italian softporn star, but ma own little cabbage) we are enjoying an Easter holiday in your beautiful Ribble Valley.
Yes, Sarko will be there to see Sparkie's boys take revenge on Wigan.
Sarko presages 2-0. Santa Cruz will finally score again at home (like the other Sarko, eh !)and Samba will score. When 'e does, sarko promises to stand up and sing ze "Marseillaise" - ah do not know the Congolese anthem, but Christophe will sympathise, 'e was born in Paree.
"Ah bisto" as zey say in ze Congo.

This is a great signing. He was superb for PSV in their champions league campaign (semi final appearance) and Hughes is a master at restoring these buried treasures. Milan didn't sign him for nothing. He will add quality and composure to our midfield and is streets ahead of Savage.

sarkodegaulle, you are an idiot.
vogel is a good midfielder but will need discipline, a fitness boost and some patience. he certainly has the ability.

I guess Vogel is alright. But he never played much at Milan - so hasn't played many games for quite some time. (I'm Swiss, so I ought to know) :D

I am very happy with this signing, he is a class act, I have seen him play many a time for Switzerland in euro 2004 & world cup 2006, he is very composed & a confident passer.

he definately is the ideal replacement for Robbie Savage!

Man Utd had shown interest in him a couple of years ago but AC Milan wouldn't let him go. Good sign he is a class player and hopefully can be a new Tugay for us? (i mean, play well in his later years)

he is the calibre of player that we should be buying, there aren't many bad Mark Hughes signings, only the axe & re-signing Henchoz.

In Hughes we trust!!

When he was at PSV he was a very solid, if unspectacular player.
He is a good, safe passer of the ball.
He was frustratingly unadventurous at times, but he rarely made any mistakes.
He never was the quickest to begin with and he's not getting any younger, so that might be a problem in a league such as the PL where football is based on pace and power as much as anything else.

I don't really know how he's fared since though, I haven't really heard anything from him the past years.
