Pacman, NEW WBC Superfeather King!

Super feather
comment on the article

Congratulations to Pacman on securing the WBC belt finally! But I believe he won't keep it long as he'll be moving up weight to face David Diaz after the rematch with Marquez.

MP and JMM really put on a good show. Worth the money I should say.

Anyway, quite a feat he has done considering he's the only Southeast Asian boxer to have held world championship belts in three different weight divisions.

Well done Manny!

It seems the general consensus of opinion is that Marquez won the fight, another dodgy decision, money talks!

Hi mnixon, you could be right but I think it was too tight a fight for any decision to be blatantly dodgy, but Pac was lunging around and although he had some success, it seemed more patchy and localised than Marquezs work across the fight. At least to me it did.

Definitely not a dodgy decision but I too had Marquez by 2 rounds. Good fight though although not the greatest I've ever seen! Will be interesting to see Clinton Woods v Antonio Tarver after their press conference!

Nobody outworks Diaz

You have to stop him on cuts or ko him.

---------------

LRR these statements clearly aren't true as Santa Cruz was a country mile ahead. While Diaz might not be outworked if a nobody like Santa Cruz can outbox him so comprehensively and a decent fighter like Kendall Holt can dominate him so thoroughly the fact remains he simply isnt that good.

I stick with my idea that Pacquaio will mangle him in the first half of the fight.

How can you call it a dodgy decision and say there was only a round or 2 in it.

No, it wasn't too bad a decision. There was at least one round that I was in two minds about, and I was watching on TV!

Some judges are blatantly incompetent or bent (Eugenia Williams, anyone?), but Marquez is meant to be the champion. Champions aren't meant to be shaded and by that reckoning I think he just nicked it.

I thought Marquez won the fight after boxing superbly. This was a great fight and very very close. Whilst I think the decision was wrong I dont think it was a disgraceful decision. When a fight is close I have no objections when the refs disagree. I think Pacman going any higher in weight is a real risk especially after Marquez laid out the blueprint to beat him.

Time to get your head out of Pac's jocks LRR.

I mean if, as you say, Marquez is a "limited fighter" who "simply cannot punch" then it dosen't say much for your beloved Pac-Man if he could only eke out a split-decision that most people don't agree with.
