Time to develop the stadiumMotherwell by tree1999 (U5350226) 15 March 2008 I am hoping John Boyle is making plans to do more than lay a good pitch. It's time to spend some money on Fir Park. Latest 10 commentsRead members' comments or add your own

Rabster (U1010144) posted Mar 17, 2008 If the SPL insist on stadium criteria then they must surely also demand the same of the playing surface. Why exactly does a small nation need three different administators anyway? We have the SPL, the SFL and the SFA...whom exactly is in charge? (To Barnzy) Gretna's owner Brooks Mileson has withdrawn his philanthrophy due to serious illness.

Brace Morris (U7911911) posted Mar 20, 2008 This was always going to happen. anybody who had ever been to Fir Park before could have told you that before a ball was kicked back in the summer of 2007. I am not having a go at Motherwell here but, in reality, their pitch is probably regarded as the worst in the SPL anyway and to make them share with another team is ridiculous.

chelmsforddon (U5323634) posted Mar 22, 2008 The SPL need to stand up and be counted. The ruling that all premier league teams need to have a 10,000 all seater stadium is a farce. Which teams regularly get over 10,000 week in week out? 3, possibly 4 at a stretch. Gretna needed to spend £30,000 to visit Aberdeen and need to spend money each week on travel even to home games! They were promoted playing on their own pitch so let them play on their own pitch. It's good for the town, good for the football - no team would enjoy traveling south to play them at home. Just look at the example of Colchester in the championship. They play at a tiny ground and no team enjoys going there to play - it is Colchester's strength.
