As an England supporter; I would just like to say well played to Gavin Henson, it's really good to see him playing again and back to his brilliant best; the guy is world class, easily the best we have seen come out of Wales since the great days of the 60's & 70's; and under the leadership and management skills of Warren Gatland, Shaun Edwards and Rob Howley, he can only get better (Brian Ashton take note!!) long may it continue.

Another Englishman invading a Welsh blog to sat well done so far, winning away twice against two stronger teams is championship winning form. I hope you hold it together and take the Slam next week against France.
As a Northern Hemisphere, something does need to be done to lift the total quality of our rugby. Maybe Gatlands aproach and attention to detail will pay dividends for Wales.
England, Scotland,Italy and occasionally Ireland and France have been dire this year. This does not hold well for the future games against SH sides.

As an Irish man I wanted to say well done to the Welsh,ye are on the right track to start playing some great rugby. We were aimless and boring, O'Sullivan has to go. However I still fear for any of us againest Southern Hemi teams, 6 nations standard overall has been poor!!

Firstly I am not your mate.
Secondly the comments I made about the ref were sound and although he made one or two mistakes, over the whole game he was a good ref and certainly a lot better than Ireland deserved.
I admit the Ireland player who headbutted the Welsh player in the back [ cowardly ] should have a had a STRAIGHT red. However he had a good game generally and maybe he knew already that Wales were well on top and dibn't want Ireland to be even more humiliated than they were. Well done to Wales I say for trying to play watchable Rugby..
This however should not be a smokescreen for a patheticall woeful and inept Irish performance. They need a new coach urgently and some fresh faces. No wonder Gatland is not pleased when a coach? of the calibre of O' Sullivan takes his place.

i find it quite ironic that people are giving out about wales' indiscipline yesterday when martyn williams' so-called "indiscipline" probably won wales the game with his trip. had heaslip been able to make that simple pass ireland surely would have won even if that wouldve been the most unjust of results

Well done Wales. Reduced to 14 men for 20 minutes and still looked in full control, cruising! Maybe the Irish Player who stated Wales haven't been tested, well he's eating his words now. The Six Nations table does the talking.

This comment from above about the REFs performance is shocking - "I admit the Ireland player who headbutted the Welsh player in the back [ cowardly ] should have a had a STRAIGHT red. However he (the REF) had a good game generally and maybe he knew already that Wales were well on top and dibn't want Ireland to be even more humiliated than they were. "

The REF is not there to sympathise with the weaker side, he is there to implement unbiased management of the game within the official rules. If he is affected in the way you state then he is thus illegally having an effect on the outcome of the Chamionship cos he is denying Wales a potentially greater points difference.

I think that REF was just poor. I agree with the Wales yellows but the Irish player deserved the same if not more.

congratulations to wales it was a great result and a resolute performance. Ireland were poor, and uninspired. I still think Ireland have a great side, they dont need changes to the team, just management. O Sullivan has done his time. A good side wont shine if under the wrong management ( Wales in the last world cup, France under Laporte) teh team dosent need changing, the team needs a fresh approach similar to what wales have got.
Wales performance was stellar. people say Henson had a great game..he's a good rugby player but not near as effective or important to wales as Martyn Williams or Ryan Jones. I also think hook is wales' real great hope for the future so its imprtant he's respected & cherished. Even in a poor six nations he is truly world class. The quality of this six nations has worried me. Wales have beaten everything that has been put in front of them so fair play, but the other teams are woeful. For the world cup finalists to lost to Scotland is embarrassing. A new approach must be taken to get the European teams back on the world stage because there is a severe lack of quality at the moment.
Despite this congrats Cymru!
