Do you agree with Blatter crackdown?

comment on the article

Fifa president Sepp Blatter has called for lifetime bans and criminal prosecutions for players guilty of making dangerous tackles.

He also wants referees to be tougher earlier in games.

What are your views on his comments?

Did you see the appalling high tackle by Carvalho late in the game against Barnsley ?
That didn't even get a yellow card - where is the consistency ?
When FIFA is not busy enjoying spending it's money on jollies (who referees those activities ?), maybe it ought to be looking closer at this lack of consistency - instead of blindly picking on specific individuals.

Best players have no life in Footbal, unless we change the rules. Lets give them some protection. Any player who cause opponent to break his leg, must be banned for at least one year

Football is a contact sport; and unfortunatly with all contact sports we have ACCIDENTS. I would suggest that most who have played and referred accept this; Blatter is a self publicist, with no true interest in the game, his comments help noone but himself - getting his name and picture in print.

Maybe the refs should have yellow and red cards to give to players who commit bad challenges. If its bad but not too bad you get a yellow and 2 yellows is a red which means you're off and receive a ban. If its a really bad tackle then you'll get a red and a longer ban. Eventually all the dirty players will receive bans for collecting too many cards as well plus the clubs can be fined too. The regular offenders will also be more closely watched in future as well.

Wait a minute.....

Fantasma, I'll step up and say yes, I'll risk a llimb getting broken for 20k+ a week and the chance to play games. Can I start right away?

The great 19th century showman P.T.Barnum once said "...there is a ....born every minute..."
and now we have the first one that would gladly face life crippling injuries just for the money!!
Next...come right in and sign here, and here, and here, and don't forget to initial the waiver clause that absolves all the bush league players that masquerade as Premier League contenders.

Blatter is a legendok and is right once again, we do not want to see cowardly tackles being made by sub-standard players in the game.

I think that today’s football has a bigger issue with xenophobia than tackles. Everywhere you turn to for football scores/news in Europe, there is a frequent reports of racist behaviors towards black players in the sport, why is that not on the front line for Blatter?
