Rovers in the semis?

FA Cup Bristol Rovers
comment on the article

I'm still pinching myself about the fact that Rovers are in the FA Cup quarter-finals, and to be honest, it's starting to hurt.

That said, I'm quite enjoying this parallel universe in which we are in the newspapers and on proper telly and everything. But is it all going to come to an end on Sunday?

Let's not kid ourselves. Sure we beat Southampton, but they're in a bit of turmoil in the Championship. And we beat Fulham, but they're struggling in the Prem and maybe their hearts weren't in the FA Cup.

I'm not doing us down - I saw both games against Fulham, and the Saints match, and there's no doubt we deserved to go through in both. But West Brom are brimming with confidence, and probably see this as a decent chance to make the final, never mind the semi.

So, I make us outsiders and our only real chance is to win at home. We need Lambert on form, we need Campbell to repeat his fifth-round performance, we might need Disley to net another last-minute header.

And we will definitely need some luck.

But it's not a fanciful pipe dream. West Brom are obviously a decent side, but they're not Man Utd or Chelsea.

If we win, we're in the FA Cup semi-final at Wembley. And that's, frankly, mental.

So Gasheads and Baggies fans, what are your predictions? And, if you didn't get a ticket, where will you be watching? Tell me, immediately.

And why not have a quick read of this as well? news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foo...

Alright Wight 88?

Am I to take it you're still a bit miffed about that disallowed goal then?

Hi Dan, you're welcome to join myself and some other misguided fools with Rovers sympathies in Mabel's Tavern near Kings X. (Assuming they're showing it). There'll be a Baggie there too, purely for ridiculing purposes you understand.

My prediction 0-2 to WBA. Alas, I don't think we have the firepower.

I see Man Utd are out... The route to the Cup is clearing for the Gas!

(I do, of course, have my tongue firmly planted in my cheek right now).

Hang on a sec - Man Utd and Chelsea out? To borrow Russell Osman's phrase from Escape To Victory...

"C'mon lads! We can win this!"
