I've just had a look through the 'See also' section at the side of the article, and Hicks is the name being metnioned most often. He appears to tbe the antagoniser, but I don't think a combination of DIC and Hicks would be good; I reckon DIC want all or nothing- definitely all.

The guy who was leading the bid from DIC has said that he is a Liverpool fan. I think that he may have a slightly better understanding of the fans' POV, as well as the business side, although I think that he would be a businessman first and foremost and a LFC fan 2nd.

To all the H&G detractors; what makes you think that DIC will be any better?

All these people are businessmen, and will run the club as a business. Loyalty, history and fan attitudes will count for ABSOLUTELY ZERO to whoever buys and owns the club. DIC will have a financial plan, which if it fails will see them out of there faster than you thought possible.

All this talk of 'my' Liverpool, and listening to the fan base is pure sentimental pie-in-the-sky. LFC (like every other top club)is a business 1st and an entertainment outlet for the fans 2nd.

Liverpool will still have problems even with a new owner. If theres 2 owners then whos to say that DIC wont fall out with the other party? Some sort of structure needs to be put in place to stop this from happening.
Also Liverpool have really failed to perform on the pitch this season. They can't use the owners as excuses. I'm afraid Liverpool do need another manager as Rafa is struggling. The goals are only coming from 2 players this season and I don't need to name them. The United game taught Liverpool a footballing lesson the other week and shows how far they really are behind this year. Some serious business need doing at the club in summer and Liverpool need to bring in at least 3 BIG named players no matter the cost and Ronaldinho is up there with the best. But it seem Rafa is more determined to try potental players and so far his signings have been poor except Torres.
Theres is many players out there Berbatov, Villa, Ronaldinho, Alves etc.... There is so many proven players out there and Liverpool need to dip in.

People can't trust Raffers potential players. as they won't work.

Rick Parry is a joke - he's one of the main reasons why hicks/gillet are in charge of the club now and not DIC.
Although he did make plenty of money from it!!!

Whatever happens money will still go into the club, putting the club further in debt, but players will come in as hicks/gillet want the club to appear a viable option to buy.

You do kinda feel sorry for Gillett, who's always wanted to buy the club himself. But he was at best naiive to try and go down the joint owenership route with somebody like Gillett, who's always seen this no more than an equity he hoped to cream some easy profit off.

I wont rise to the people who say - you wouldn't have torres, babel etc. without them - as they're either trying to bait people into an agry response or are genuinely that stupid that they think running a football club is about chucking a few pounds of investment into it ( and it is a few pounds - NET - compared to the Man U / Chelsea / Barcelona / Real Madrid's etc. of this world), Besides, would we not have had the same money with a different investor!!??

Hicks has nobody to blame but himself. I'm amased he's got as far in business as he has as he's a PR catastrophe on a par only with Heather Mills.

in truth the money from the last few CL runs., and increased revenue through sponsers, and television, coupled with Rafa's selling on of players has actually been where the funding has mostly come from.

The Americans have contributed little other than cause disruption at normally stable club, but they did show some very pretty pictures of a stadium, and were nice enough to go back on their word of putting the debt on the club which they said they wouldnt. steam

I don't think any Liverpool fan knows wether DIC will be a good owner. The point is, that most would prefer almost anybody to own it rather than Hicks. They can't do much worse can they?

I for one would back a group takeover from Nick Leeson, Adam Applegarth and Gordon Brown in the current climate!!
