Would Chelsea benefit from having Amauri on board? Have you been impressed by his performances in Italy?

Yeah Chelsea have no debts because they have bottomless pockets, that's no way to run a biz!
Yes sure most teams are getting a whack from incoming chairmen but the ludicrous, "he's good, let's buy him " attitude must go away. It has inflated the transfer market.
Yes the Arse, who I support, have bought players in but its to fit in with a plan and they, like all clubs are getting a lot from sponsorship. If Chelsea were sponsored by Sibneft or Millhouse Capital then I could see the business sense, but if it comes from one mans boyish ambition to win a league medal ( say why didnt he pick Tottenham or (!) Millwall) it just doent have any value for me
I feel sorry for Sheva, because before Chelsea he was a great player - he fitted in with Milans style. He was the third-highest goalscorer in the history of European club competition, now he's a Chelsea has been.
And besides as Arsenal showed last night, you're over the hill at 28!

Us signing Torres at 23 million was big money, but to spend 19 million for a 27 year old guy who i've never heard of before seems madness.

Fiorentina's had a good season but nothing special and i can't see how spending that much money on a guy who's at his peak maybe now and will start to "get on a bit"; would help Chelsea.

You got the financial backing to buy anyone just about, i think it would be better to bide your time and snap up some real young quality or a world clas player when the opportunity arrives.

WHA???

Fiorentina have had a fantastic season. Many italian pundits are tipping them to finish ahead of milan. Yes world champions milan. And amauri doesnt even play for them anyway???

Why are you complaining that hes 29?? Hes still got a good few years in him yet ( about 6 i'd say) and if he comes and scores 20 goals a season evn for just 2 seasons he'll have been a worth while buy. 6 years is a very long time

Chelsea dont seem to have the network of scouts who can see the next Ronaldo, Pato, Fabregas. They end up paying big money, tho Liverpool had to dig deep, but at least Torres is a class player and young!

Agreed. OK, so i was mistaken, Amauri is Brazilian, but still, Italian league players tend not to do that well here. He may be an exception..i dont know. I just thihk there is a dearth of decent strikers available to buy right now, save Benzema.

I think he will be useful for us, we should be ready to give him more time to cope with the physical aspect of the game.

ive had enough abt people banging on about chelsea's deep pockets. u lot are just jealous that roman didn't pick u and to be honest, i couldn't care less if chelsea bought 50 players for 20million each and they all turn out like shevchenko. so long as a few turn out like carvalho and drogba, u lot should zip it.
