Expect an Improvement....

Premier League Derby County

comment on the article

After a woeful performance last weekend and Paul Jewell and Alan Stubbs critcising the players performances and robbie savage criticising his own performance it has been an eye opening week for the Derby County players.

Hopefully this will mean a considerbaly better performance today against Sunderland. The fact that sunderland have not won away form home all season surely gives Derby the perfect opportunity to atleast grab a point this afternoon.

In my opinion at the start of the season this would be considered a win for Derby and i realy think we should be trying to win this game and finally give the fans something to cheer about since september.

Not entertaining by any stretch of the imagination but an improved performance at least. I think PJ's harsh words were perhaps the catalist.

Sunderland deserved a win after rubbish officiating again caused us the loss of two more points. Referee's like Mike Riley don't deserve to referee football. Sunderland will not be relegated because we are too good and Derby will make a new lowest points record and Keane stop playing strikers on the wing put leadbitter their instead.

Lady Luck was with Derby today. As a neutral in the relegation fight I hope Jewell can instill some belief in County and help them avoid making history.

Sunderland have wasted their chance of first away win!

It seemed after the game that both sides, having spent £70M between them since the Championship matches 12 months ago, managed to come up with a match that was far worse than the same teams produced last season. If it wasn't for the fact that I have seen other teams just as bad already this season I would have predicted that both of these sides would go down. This was very poor fare for both sets of supporters.

Akiras, we didnt get all £60M in one go. we got approximately £35M this season. The rest is 2 seasons parachute money that is still to come. That 35M went roughly on 1/3 in transfers, 1/3 on extra wages and 1/3 to the Coop Bank to repay (part of?) the debt. There also rumours (unsubstantiated as far as I know) that the January buying spree and more repayments to the bank have already accounted for next season's parachute payment.........

Derby supporters, just wake up and smell the coffee! You are Championship club with no players nor fans! The Premiership next season will be a much better place without you.

In response to Derby having no fans; we average 96% of capacity, the same as Liverpool and Portsmouth. We draw a larger percentage crowd that Villa, Everton, Man City, Blackburn amongts others. We're joint 9th for percentage attendances this season so far.

Looking at the loudest fans, yes it was Sunderland from August to September, but look at how they only fill 86% of their stadium now....

Derby have the 8th loudest fans and 9th attendance percentage.

We will go down, but at least I'll have supported them through it and enjoyed myself along the way.
