Grant Demands Respect

Chelsea

Avram Grant has today demanded the media show him more respect as manager of Chelsea. But why?

In the wake of the last weeks cup final he showed no respect to the Spurs players or managers, making excuses and claiming the better team lost. Football fans across the country knew he was talking rubbish and as such he made Chelsea a laughing stock. He's also alienated key players such as John Terry with his mind games. Before extra time last week he could be seen doing nothing while the players were left to motivate themselves. His record shows that he can get Chelsea's expensive squad to win easy matches, but so could Glen Roeder. In the key games he's been found wanting. On top of all this he looks like a giant, constipated toad - yet he demands respect.

Chelsea must've been off their rockers to have got rid of Jose, that guy was class and Grant isn't fit to lace his shoes. The club is slowly becoming nothing more than one thing - the embodiment of Abramovichs ego.

yep lazy badly constructed and concentrating on frivelous base level most of the time. No wonder England has so many problems socially if this is the mainstream.

Yes the knives are out for Chelsea it would seem. I must admit being a Chelsea fan I was gutted when Jose left us (doom and gloom) but this new chap Avram (who I must admit I likened to Mourn out of Star Trek DS9) has grown on me and I am more than happy to give him his chance. He is the complete opposite of Jose, low key, uncontroversial and not egotistical. A perfect replacement for Romans club. I think Jose being in the papers ALL the time was doing damage to the club but he kept the spotlight off the players and firmly focused on him.

Since we lost the cup the other weekend the papers have done everything in their power to undermine the club, apparently all the players are going to leave, Avram is sacked and your granny is going to replace him. To be honest I think Avram has every right to criticise the press, he has been more than helpful to them even though his English is not that great.

The press has paid that kindness back with lies, exaggerations and contempt.

The Press in this country are nothing more than pub gossips, publishing unsubstantiated hearsay. Our press used to be the pride of the world but now are worthless gutter snipes who cower behind the shadows of their corporate sponsors who hide their true agenda. If there is nothing to write about they make it up.

What I really don't get is why does the media always target Chelsea only?! When was the last time we say any of the teams in red being insulted and criticized to this extend?

I think you will find it just feels like it's always Chelsea. If you check the Arsenal, United or Liverpool boards you will occasionally find them complaing about the exact same things. The press tend to pick on a club fro a while then move on.

I think its so they can act all innocent and claim to be treating everyone fairly.

The same maybe but hardly fairly, imo.

I know this is now way past it's sell-by date but in light of this weeks results especially will you admit some kind of error in you next article.
For Chelsea especially a league win or a Champions league knock ot win is more important than the League Cup Final. Grant has used his resources well.
