Hicks May Block Gillett Sale

Liverpool
comment on the article

Off Skysports...

Liverpool co-owner Tom Hicks has hinted that he may not allow George Gillett to sell his 50 per cent stake in the club.

Hicks insisted only this week that he is not interested in selling his stake in Liverpool.

Neither man can sell without the other's consent and Hicks has revealed that he could block his fellow American if he tries to cut his ties with the club.

"Not only am I not going to sell, my partner cannot sell without my approval," Hicks said in the Fort Worth Star-Telegram.

"So, I kind of have the ability to determine the outcome of what is going to happen, and I am right in the middle of that."

Recent reports have suggested Dubai International Capital are considering making an offer for Gillett's half of Liverpool.

Hicks and Gillett took control of the Reds in 2007, but their time at Anfield has been shrouded in controversy as Liverpool have struggled on the field.

Hmmm, seems that Gillett has had enough then, seems that Hicks hasn't though, is that good or bad? the fact he would even block his partner selling his half, for a club that have ridiculed him and his family?

Is Hicks really the bad man he's been portrayed as?

Your Thoughts?

Hicks - GO NOW!

It's so obvious that Hicks is playing 'hard ball' to squeeze the money out of the deal - at least Gillet has the decency to sell.

Gillet, is very quiet in relation to every thing and seems to have taken a back seat, which I find strange to say the least? I do believe that this is A ploy of some sort, because a man of Gillets, standing and business acumen would not allow himself to be bullied by anyone. This is all designed to squeeze as much out of DIC, as possible. If Mr Gillet, Parry and Moores, were to openly oppose Hicks, through the media, then his position would become unattainable.I would like to hear something from Mr Moores, a simple sorry would be appreciated.

Gillette is the red headed step child.

he found the deal himself, could fund it himself he had to get Hicks in to close the deal. Gillette has no-where near or acces the financial resources that Hicks has.

Gillette is nothing more than the mouse in the corner, out of his depth in this deal.

jus like i dont care who cooks my fish and chips.

------------------------

So, if the person cooking your chips was some scruff, the kind that urinates on his hands and doesn't wash them- has lice in his hair that fall into the vat of oil whilst cooking the chips.

The kind who got his fish from the dustbins outside of pet shops...

You wouldn't care?

/Sorry off topic and being silly.

Hopefully they sell the club before the summer transfer window. This joke has gone on long enough.

These americans only bought the club because they thought they could earn a quick buck and because it's fashionable at the moment, they couldn't give one about that club itself or the supporters or they would have gone by now. We all want them out.
