What are the feelings ahead of this weeks match against Rovers?

A brief respite from the top 4 clashes.

Looking at the last few matches (below) Rovers have only turned over Bolton twice, and whilst that is impressive when lined up against the NUFC record, it does offer some glimmer of hope for a possible first win under Keegan.

With NUFC at home for this one are we expecting that elusive
win or is a draw a more believable outcome.

I'm going for that first win if Martins is back in the team and the defence has been given some 'back to basics' advice by Chris Hughton.

Newcastle:

29 Jan, 19:45 Arsenal 3 - 0 Newcastle United
3 Feb, 13:30 Newcastle United 1 - 1 Middlesbrough
9 Feb, 12:45 Aston Villa 4 - 1 Newcastle United
23 Feb, 17:15 Newcastle United 1 - 5 Manchester United

Blackburn:
13 Jan, 16:00 Bolton Wanderers 1 - 2 Blackburn Rovers
19 Jan, 15:00 Blackburn Rovers 1 - 1 Middlesbrough

TOPTTENHAMFAN you are welcome to him! Although you have 3 better strikers than him already there and let one go in January. I just hope theres a manager out there stupid enough to pay us what we payed for him.
toonsideshark KK couldnt turn a car round never mind a football team, and as for Martins, a rhino has pace and power that would scare defenders, but like Martins a rhino has no concept of football!

Normally in this match, I'd back Newcastle. We were unlucky at Ewood Park this season, but still lost 3-1 after Martins scored early in the second half.
I'd go for a 1-1 draw this weekend. Owen and Bentley the scorers. Blackburn have been alright recently, the Toon a lot worse. But we've got the crowd and atmosphere of St. James', so a draw is probably the most likely result.

I genuinly have no desire to see Newcastle be demoted, in many senses they suffer alongside Spurs with the "Who do they think they are calling themselves a BIG team "syndrome, we have both experienced varying levels of success over our MANY years of existance, both teams have a huge fan base, neither team can seem to gain consistancy ( Although I think we are getting there)in brief I as a lifelong Spurs fan (58 years old) empaphise your decent people with an outstanding passion for your team. BUT I simply believe Kegan second time around was a mistake, & I honestly believe you can go down, Blackburn for starters are no mugs & in fact are a fairly scary proposition for you right now, even @ home certainly always give us a very tough game.
So good luck, let's hope Owen is up for the battle, to me he disappoints, I know no one man is a team, but he simply does not seem to have that Geordie passion or sense of the history of your club.

Newcastle have to realize that they are not as big of a club as they think they are. The geordie army need to get behind their players and help push them on in matches against the likes of Blackburn and help the team grind out a result. Newcastle will not be relegated but a finish above 14th will be a good seaon for them. King Kev will have time to organise and rebuild for next season and we may see a new Newcastle then. Till then, win ugly must be the order of the day. smiley

Have watched NUFC for years. Going to St. James tomorrow for
the first time. Even Owen is losing confidence.
Let's get this team back on track with a good thumping
of Rovers.

My thoughts are how is Newcastle's backline going to stop an attacking 4 of Pederson, Bently, Cruz, and McCarthy from scoring at least two goals. If that is the case, can anyone see the toon scoring 3 goals in a game right nwo with Butt and Smith as the creative force behind Owen!!!

frankly I would be a neutral over this if it weren't for all the hype that surrounded the return of Keegan. NUFC need all this 'sleeping giant' 'big club' nonsense knocked out of them. Then they can bring a good youn manager and give them the time to build up the club without the pressure of being expected to deliver instant success. If they continue just giving into fan pressure every time there's a bad patch they'll be fighting relegation battles for years to come.
For that reason I have to say, come on Blackburn!
