Good news !

Scottish Premier Heart of Midlothian
comment on the article

A quote from Vladimir Romanov in today's Edinburgh Evening News:

"Andrius was great for Hearts, but we talked with the coaches and decided that there are some younger forwards who can replace him well."

Any ideas guys who these "younger forwards" are?

I've a feeling Beniusis will start tomorrow night. When he came on at Fir Park he looked an absolute carthorse, slow and pondersome. I fear the worst!

I'd imagine that the sale of Velicka by Kaunas (don't anybody pretend Hearts get any benefit from this transaction, other than the knowledge we've been used as a shop window) is an acknowledgement that Romanov believes Hearts are going nowhere this season.

Out of both cups, nothing to play for in the league, obviously doesn't care if we are top 6 or not, why shouldn't he start selling off the saleable assets in the team for his own personal gain?

On the bright side, Kostadinov is meant to be the biz. I say 'meant to be' as he doesn't even seem to regularly get his game for either the kids or the reserves. Highly rated in Bulgaria though, he's had a gig for their U-21s before he's even had a sniff of a first team jersey at Hearts. And to be fair, it's about time guys like him and Copil start getting their head, otherwise they'll just end up as two more names on the list headed by Schandl, C and Holemar, M. Remember them?

Maybe gaps in the first team could be a good thing. Regardless, Romanov really f*cked up with Bednar, didn't he?

This is a huge disappointment just at a time when we thought we could see some light. 4 victories and clean sheets from our last 5 games, gaining ground on the teams above and very realistically looking at 4th place as achievable if we could keep this up, we had every right too feel more confident than we have done at any other point this season, but then just when we least expected it, we suffer another blow.

With the sale of our tallisman, i fear we will lose a bit of momentum. Velicka's goalscoring record in a struggling side was extraordinary and be in no doubt, our SPL opponents will be breathing a sigh of relief that he's now gone.

He was direct, strong, brave, not afraid to shoot and unusually for Hearts strikers lately, able to stay fit. I am struggling to find many of these attributes in our possible replacements.

With just Elliot, Nade and less so, Beniusis, having top team experience, i see it difficult to find where the goals (or even the threat) will come from for the remainder of the season? We must all hope that Big Beni is has the capability to find a bit of form and go on a run, but i feel it unlikely.

Kingston's return, albeit only until he's sold in June, will be a boost, Driver and other midfielders chip in occasionally with a goal or two but as it's not enough, we became heavily reliant on our guy that delivered double figures.

What's more worrying is... When we're struggling for a goal tonight, or in Inverness on Saturday and beyond, how long will it be before the fans are getting on the backs of our other attacking replacements? Especially at Tynecastle? Not long i should think.

NO ONE wants a repeat of the scandalous abuse rained down from the stands on the night of the Hibs game in August. It's worth bearing in mind that for all the disappointment at the sale of our top scorer, it is not helpful to take out these frustrations on the replacements who will naturally, be doing their best to soften the impact of the loss.

In the words of Scott Wilson, 'Let's get right behind the team.'

How can this happen outside the transfer window - or are some countries exempt?

I thought this was a worldwide system.

Just think if we were at Murrayfield we would at least be cheering something GENUINE albeit in our loneliness.

Only happens in the EU, mate. And since Norway is not part of the bankers' superstate, then they are exempt.

Is there any way of getting "right behind the team", while simultaneuously getting "right up Romanov's nose"?
Suggestions welcome...
