*** FT - BOLTON 1-3 LIVERPOOL ***Premier League Liverpool by RKW - Heart and Pole™ (U8894432) 24 February 2008 This is the thread to discuss BOLTON WANDERERS V LIVERPOOL in the Premier League. Liverpool put on a classy performance to move up to fourth place in the Premier League, with a great win over Bolton Wanderers at the Reebok. Liverpool went a goal ahead, after Steven Gerrard's shot, that appeared to be going a couple of yards wide, bounced in of Bolton goalkeeper Jussi Jaaskelainen's head. Bolton had started brightly in the first ten minutes, hitting the crossbar, and having one headed off the line. Liverpool dominated the first half after they took a 1-0 lead, and couldn't get that second goal before half-time, that would have killed off Bolton. Liverpool came out well in the second half, and Ryan Babel made it 2-0 on the hour, after Steven Gerrard's shot bounced back off the post, Babel scored from the rebound. Bolton were struggling as Liverpool continued to press for more goals, and Fabio Aurelio scored with his first Premier League goal this season, with a wonder strike, a volley into the top corner, from 18 yards. Within four minutes, Bolton had a glimmer of hope, after Timir Cohen scored from a corner with a header, after Reina failed to get to the ball first. Liverpool are now momenterally up to fourth in the Premier League, with Everton and Portsmouth meeting at Goodison Park at 4pm. They got stuck in and really showed what they are made of, something that i've never seen them do at the Reebok. posted Mar 3, 2008 I don't think Liverpool did play well! First half they were particularly poor, with lots of misplaced passes and no real desire to push forward. In fact, I'd go as far as to say the first half was miserable, poor quality and very bad to watch.

Scotsmapolitan (U9181095) posted Mar 3, 2008 Did you watch the game or were you there? I was there and as a neutral it was a terrible game. Full credit to the Bolton Hospitality, what a lovely pre match meal we all enjoyed prior to the game. 3-1 flatters! Watched the highlights on MOD and looked like a completely diffrent game what with the action replays and bummed up commentery. Just goes to show that the EPL is so so over rated. Bring back minimum english players and the art of a good tackle from a top defender. Not a defender merrited because he has "pace".
