Some very good displays by Villa players. Hard fought but deserved win. A good fillip for next Saturday at the Emirates.

If we can take posotives from the game today (not many),i'd say it was an improved performance. We where more patient going forward, and at times we were all over them. We need change up front again though - Kitson had a shocker and Doyle's effort dosen't produce a huge amount. I'm not a fan of his but maybe bring Lita back in the mix?
I'm confident we can stay up still, Bolton have got a horrible run in and Birmingham are slipping but it's getting tense. The boos at the end of the game didn't help though, we need to back the boys and get behind them (even if they aren't giving much back)

-------------

Not quite sure what game you were watching today, its a step back from our performance at Everton mate. We were awful, we didnt test the keeper, and u cant say we look dominant at any time in the game because the posession speaks for its self Villa 70% RFC 30%. Lets be realistic we are not looking close to winning a game atm and teams like Birmingahm are picking up points, scoring goals and generally puting in better performances. Coppells idiotic look at the transfer window has costed us, saying comments like "he wont sign anyone unneccesarily is silly because u can see the posiion we're in now, we need some decent, confident defenders.

I agree, Coppell is far to easy going and should have been sacked a long time ago. His bitterness with Lita has cost us point and the Premier League.

Reading fans having a pop at Coppell is like Derby sacking Davies, Fulham sacking Coleman and various other teams chopping the manager after a dodgy run.

You're not an established Prem side - battling against the drop is to be expected in the first few years after coming up. Last year you did great but over achieved massively and this year is proving to be a lot tougher. There's still a lot of point to play for though and it's looking as if Derby and Fulham already have two of the relegation places sorted. Chopping your manager now would be a disaster. Chopping him at all would be stupid as he's done an exceptional job.

I don't think it would have mattered if we had Kitson, Doyle AND Lita up front today...If we don't get the ball to them, we'll not going to score...

Time & time again, when we had possession we just didn't move the ball quickly enough, or have any sort of cutting edge.

For me, Kebe looked like someone who could make a difference in time, but time isn't a comodity we have a lot of.

Oh, & please try & back the team & manager - with half the stadium emptying around me after the 'Hare' scored, I do wonder if those that left, were supporters of Premiership football or Reading FC. My money is on the former.

Suppotring your team is like marrige - In sickness AND in health....

Oh dear, reading look as though they are going to be in for a struggle towards the end of this season. coppell had better have something up his sleeve otherwise they will be playing championship football. which probably isn't the right place for some of the players like dave kitson and nicky shorey.

Agreed i dont think Coppell should be sacked by any stretch of imagination and i dont believe we punch above our weight either. Coppell just has been tactically wrong the past month or so. I just cannot stand managers praising players after the kind of form we're in atm. He needs to get tough with them show them that its not a walk in the park, stop the messing about and get down to business. I stayed till the end today because i wanted to vent my anger at the team, but the only way sometimes u can get through to players and staff is by emptying the stand. You tell me how other way u can let them know your disappointment ? I've been going for many many many years now watching the Royals and i'll admit on occasions i have left early but i think u'll find its the premiership fans that stay and the loyals leave early because its very difficult seeing ur team get batterd all over the park like that. I dont think fans should do it every week and quite frankley part-time supporters anoy me so on that note i'll be glad to go back to the lower league and slug it out with real fans and real football where money doesnt count.

Its amazing that Villa could make Europe this year just by scoring goals from set-pieces. Build a giant team. Dominate corners and free kicks. Well done Martin O'Neill!

Natureboy,

I have to say that is a pretty decent response. Reading have played very poorly but I wouldn't have thought the possession in this game was 70% in favour of AV. More like 50/50 in my opinion.

I think Reading had a decent game. Our defence was good for most of the game and the midfield were pushing forward but the A.V. defence stopped us from scoring. Reading's performance was down to silly mistakes and a lack of patience. I think they need to calm down and think!

Reading need to definitely beat Derby, Fulham, Birmingham and Wigan. Anything else would be a bonus.

Excellent result for Villa. I wasn't happy with the Harewood signing at the start of the season, but he has changed my opinion of him.

He has been immense in recent games and I'm sure if the goal he scored was scored by Rooney, Ronaldo or the another from the big clubs, people would be going on about the goal.

I hope we get fourth but I'm not holding my breath. Bring on Arsenal!!!

As an Brighton fan, I'm delighted with the current freefall of Reading. I was so sick of their glory last year and I want to shoot the tele over. The slump has feeled me with glee. This will teach them for taking our manager, our best players and our money. Long my their downfall continue. Well done Villa for beating them senseless. I just hope you enjoy life back in the Championship next year, Reading. As your plans for a stadium expansion has just gone up in smoke! MAWHAHAHA!
