For all his supposed tactical brilliance, I wish someone would convince Ramos that playing midfielders at fallback is not a good idea!!!

Neither Tainio or O'hara know what they're doing there...

I just hate it when Spurs play with their foot off the pedal. I hope whoever is responsible, whether it's Ramos or the players, learn their lesson and kill teams off when given the chance.

RooNaldoUnited

Please correct me if I'm mistaken but didn't Tevez score in the 90th minute against Spurs only two weeks ago to snatch a undeserved draw?

You've either got a short memory or don't rate Utd as a 'REAL team'

Ratings:

ROBINSON [8] - Kept concentrating at all times and made one all-important world-class save.

TAINIO [6] - Tried to do a good job, but lack of experience in that position was evident. In future UEFA Cup matches, Ramos should stick to the Chimbonda on the right, Lee on the left combination we all know and love.

WOODGATE [8] - Marshalled the makeshift defence well, kept the strikers as quiet as possible and never really put a foot wrong.

KABOUL [7] - Made life difficult with his casual passing and heading but also made up for his mistakes immediately.

CHIMBONDA [7] (Malbranque '61) - Not his best performance, but attacked and defended well while on the pitch.

LENNON [6] (Jenas '70) - Had the ball in good positions, but rarely made a telling pass or run.

HUDDLESTONE [7] - A solid performace, especially towards the end when he concentrated on his defensive duties to make sure of qualification.

ZOKORA [9] - A good energetic display of ball-winning and defending and for once, he passed the ball about. Man of the match.

O'HARA [7] - When good he was great, but his mistakes show how far he still has to go. He'll learn from it though.

BERBATOV [7] (Keane '46) - While he was in the game, Slavia were not. Spurs almost regretted taking him off.

BENT [7] - Impressed with his ability to evade the defence, but didn't show that extra quality to create more goalscoring chances. Unlucky with two attempts on the crossbar though.

SUBS

KEANE [6] - Didn't really create much attacking-wise.

MALBRANQUE [6] - Had a few goes to attack Slavia, but nothing really worked.

JENAS [6] - Concentrated solely on defensive duties and eased pressure on Zokora and Huddlestone.

This is what you get playing people out of position. Tainio can't pass more than 2 yards.
Chimbonda is not and will never be a left-back. The good old Spurs defensive panic set in again. Ramos has not cured this yet. Lennon needs to practice his passing as well. Who'd be a Spurs supporter when they put us through the meat grinder like this time after time.

My heart sank from the start when I saw Darren Bent was playing.

I can't remember any decent Spurs performance that coincides with him being in the team

I agree that Tainio and O'Hara playing as full backs was a terrible idea. Why didn't he play Chimbonda and Lee?

What worries me is the one man on post at corners. Didn't Ramos learn the lesson from the United game?

Put in another 2nd half performance like that against Chelsea and Eindhoven and you will be out.

Firstly-Pascal Chimbonda not good enough I'm afraid. Offload summer(please).
Secondly-Tainio not good enough, regardless of playing left back.Offload summer(please).
Thirdly-We would of lost the game last night if M.J had been manager... No doubt about that one!
And lastly we'll beat chelsea on Sunday,no doubt about it. We coud'nt play any worse than that again if we tried!!

Sorry folks but for those who see signs of improvement under Ramos, you are kidding yourselves. I only wish Martin Jol had the luck Ramos and Poyet are having at the moment we would have won the premiership this year.
Don't get me wrong I like both of them, but we are still way off producing seriously good consistent performances week in week out. Yes we pull off the odd cracker like we din against United and as Glenn Hoddle says we can beat anyone on their day, but so can Barnsley? Lets get real there is still an awful lot of work to do before we get a really good consistent team. By the way I hope it is our day on Sunday, I really do.
