Never hurry a Murray

So Andy's suffered a case of ATP title winner's hangover and got beaten just a few days later in the first round in Rotterdam by a wildcard. Has be been partying to hard or is he just going to blame it on a change of indoor surfaces (from France to the Netherlands).

I don't think Murray was trying too hard in that one. He is almost at maximum for his ranking points in minor tournaments - only 5 count and he already has 3 wins and a final. I think he is saving himself for the Masters events in March, where he needs to do well as they always count to your total.

I really believe Andy Murray is a WASTE of time!.Thye problem with us Brits is that we support absolute Losers..he wins some irrelevant title where the top players are
involved and then loses to some outsider in his very next match!! Andy Murray WILL NEVER EVER win a grand slam!

Also apart from NOT being a great player the guy is arrogant IMHO, and show no respect to his Davis cup responsibilities or to other players on the circuit...THE BETTER FOR TENNIS when he is gone and fades away!

xrayrapid2 joking on these sites is fraught with danger. There's always some muppet out there who hangs on to your every word and then responds with some venomous riposte.

Regarding spelling. 606 needs a built in spell checker - how many times have I posted then realised one of the key words is spelt all wronggg? doh

Also was it on this thread? (or elsewhere - can't be bothered to check) that someone was challenged about whether or not they had English at GCSE or any other level for that matter? Could of course have been a couple of WUMs at work!

"I shouldn't bother with the irony, obviously. I was trying to suggest that what you were saying was so bl***y obvious it wasn't worth saying. Course I saw the match - and you're right, he was too passive. So he lost the match. So?"

1. You don't understand irony. i now realise you were being sarcastic
2. there were 65 messages posted before my original post, noone had mentioned how passive murray played so i thought it was appropriate for me to bring it up. i got attacked by you because it was "so bl***y obvious it wasn't worth saying". so what you are saying is that i shouldnt come on a tennis forum and talk about how my favourite player got his tactics/mindset wrong in a match he should have won. what else is a tennis forum for? also, if my comment was "so bl***y obvious it wasn't worth saying" how come the next people to comment also felt it appropriate to talk about the passivity of murrays game.
3. "so he lost the match? SO?" SO, I am making a comment on why i think he lost the match. why shouldnt i do that?

He has already vindicated his decision to part with Gilbert.

Murray needs to start warming up a bit earlier before matches and he needs to find a way to psyche himself up.

He shouldn't be losing to players like Tsonga and Haase. sadface

Federer is 26 Years and 6 months old
Murray is 20 Years and 8 months old

Federer, therefore is 5 years and 10 months older than Murray.

If we then go back 5 years and 10 months, to the time when Federer was the same age as Murray is now, we end up in April 02.

In April 02, Federer was ranked 11, a career-high at that point, he had only won 2 titles (Sidney and Milan, neither of which being particularly large tournaments), despite having already been on the tour for over 2 years. He didn't win his first grand slam until over 1 Year later.

So actually, Murray fares quite well so far, so let's give the poor guy a break shall we?

Who supported and paid for Andy Murray in his formative years the "Scottish LTA" or "English LTA" - I think the latter - isn't it time he put some of his earnings back into the "English LTA". I believe I heard that when the world cup football was on he wasn''t going to support England when Scotland were knocked out. If he wants to avail himself to the LTA facilities in Priory Lane, Roehampton he should rethink his patriotism. The English loved Greg - but Andy is doing nothing to warm our hearts and I think he may expect boos if he plays Wimbledon this year.

awesomeTopspin,

Are you unaware that Murray trained in Spain? The LTA were not as helpful to him as you seem to think.

Not that this has any bearing on a decision that was entirely his to make.

I'm English and I whole-heartedly support Murray. You are a plonker if the reasons you supply for disliking him are true.

Also, you make English people seem like petty twerps: could you stop that please?

I think you'll find that the LTA is just that, not the English LTA. Their major sponsor is Highland Spring, a Scottish company. You don't know too much about football either, 'heard that when the world cup football was on he wasn't going to support England when Scotland were knocked out.' Scotland weren't knocked out, they weren't at the tournament.
