Utd do spend a lot of money, but they have recently spent a lot on very young players with huge potential: Rooney, Ronaldo, Nani, Anderson. You can't compare that to Chelsea going around and buying Shevchenko for silly money at a late stage in his career, or working out a mega deal wage and sponsorship-wise for Ballack.

Since Arsenal gor Fabregas for practically nothing, good luck to them, but Walcott was expensive too, and let's not forget Reyes "Mr. Oh-we're-so-poor-all our players-came-out-of-the-bin-behind-Oxfam"...

Hi everyone. It's good to be back! I wish to comment on Lawro's predictions. Quite often his 'clairvoyance' portends less than favorable prospects for Man Utd. On one rare occasion (against Man City), he predicted that Man Utd would breach the Man City defense three times. Well, Man Utd lost. Against Arsenal the man in his customary 'cavalier' prognostication stated that Arsenal would grab a draw against Man Utd. Anyhow, everyone has a prerogative to their opinion. It must be hard to guess what the outcome of games will be, because sometimes the team that plays the best football on the material day will 8 times out of 10 carry the day. (Man City against Man Utd, as a case in point).

Before I go, I must say kudos to Man Utd for emphatically destroying the 'classy' Arsenal. I've always felt that this season Man Utd would be some sort of juggernaut. And going by what I've witnessed this season, I think this current crop of players will form a supreme nucleus that will take tremendous attempts to dislogde from the echelons of English football. Anderson and Nani have been particularly impressive and will only get better. Ronaldo will equally get better.

I wonder what's panning out at Liverpool? All prospects of success seem to be fizzling out by the day. Chelsea though are so relentless. This season will go to the wire ...

Yes, but he did come to Chelsea, if Arsene Wenger didn't go to Arsenal then you wouldn't be here either, if Sir Alex didn't go to United then they wouldn't be here... what an idiot.

Fact is since Roman and Mourinho came you have won an FA Cup. No that is it... you haven't won the league yet so pipe down Arsenal fans.. I hope you win nothing this season.

Since the huge influx of money from Man United and Chelsea you haven't even looked like qualifying for Champions League Football until this season. Suddenly you think your the greatest team in the World even though Man United just whooped you 4 nil. WAKE UP! Cannot wait until the end of the season when you are staring at yet another empty Trophy Cabinet.

Are you a WUm or just stupid?

Yes 2 years without a trophy disaster - I don't know how we are still in existence.

Take a look at the players we lost since the unbeaten year - Henry, Pires, Ljungberg, Vieira, Bergkamp, Edu, Wiltord - it is a rebuilding - we could have bankrupted the club trying to buy instant success but it looks like it is working.

Yes, a not full strength team just got twatted by United and deservedly so - we are also 5 points ahead in the league. Citeh beat United twice - does that make them better??

As for this 'you haven't won anything this season' - I think if you check, you will find that no team has won anything as the season hasn't finished. Incredibly complicated I know ...

Lol, so much passion..

Its tough at the top, nice to see the United Arsenal rivalry back up there. A few seasons ago it wasnt that big a deal because of Chelski's dominance.

Forget all bitternesswinkeye for a moment and appreciate why English football is the most exciting.

Some people dont half spout some crap on here..

Yes the CL is the big one, but saying the FA Cup was sacrificed on purpose for you to win the CL is rubbish. Given the choice u'd still want to be in both.

I may be biased but it seems to me that Anderson is already better than Fabregas, never mind potential. He's had him in his pocket twice now, three in April, as well as managing to make plenty of good runs and creative passes at the same time. Fabregas is very good, but Anderson has the edge. United are better than Arsenal, what determines who wins the league is the hunger of the United players, nothing else.

"yes, a not full strength team just got twatted by United "

doh

Its is amazing how many gooners have become delusional. No Tevez, No ronaldo , no giggs, yet Man Utd's squad players made your first team players like fiberglass, helb, toure, gallas, adebayor and co look like a conference team...Even Wenger saw sense to realize that to advance the above-quoted excuse would be futile and factually erroneous...

Just accept you were showboated off the park, and some respect may be restored in North London!!
