I have a feeling that Benitez still vastly underestimates teams who are lower than Liverpool in the league, especially those in lower divisions.
That's fine if his only objective is the CL.
However, it looks like Liverpool fans have another season of failure, unless Benitez can pull another rabbit out of the CL hat.
I very much doubt he can.

As a supporter I'm completely gutted we're out of the Cup, but in all honesty our season has been a disaster. But we can't blame the American owners for everything. Ok Hicks was wrong to publicly speak about Jurgen Klinsmann, and they haven't exactly attended many games, but they did supply Rafa with the money in the summer and again in January when he bought Skrtel.

The problem now in my opinion lies with the management and the players. We need to get rid of some of the deadwood at the club that aren't performing for us. We have too many average players. The ones I'd definitely keep would be Gerrard, Torres, Carragher, Reina, Finnan, Riise and Crouch. The rest would have to fight for their place or leave.

And I think that Benitez has failed to take us forward in the league and instead has taken us back-over. Therefore I think it's time for someone else to come in. He's had money, time, plenty of support from the fans and now we're out of both Domestic cup competitions, struggling to even qualify for fourth spot in the league and struggling to beat lower league opposition. In my opinion, things need to change, and fast.

We already know about the problem in the League.
There is still as good or better chance of us winning the Champions League as any of the previous three years.
When it comes to the big European games we are more than capable of dumping out out Chavsky and Moan Utd and Arse.nal.
I know I wouldn't spend a free bet on any of the other "big three" getting a result in the CL.........

I am a ManU fan and i have to say that i have a respect for Liverpool and what they have done and for their proud tradition but i think the problem is with the manager. The americans have come up with the funds but the players on sat were a disgrace to the club.

Here we go again. Rotating the team. Rotation is Okay if you are winning but we are not. I dont think Rafa knows his best eleven players. I think its time to rotate the manager

No exscuse for Benitez. He didn't play the side well. But evryone hates the american owners more. They will be out. Benitez will be out as manager whoever is the next owners. I'm not a liverpool fan!

Oh dear, oh dear. I am from Barnsley. This was our Cup Final and we won it!! LIverpool played a weakened team but surely one that was chosen to win the game. They created chances but only scored one goal. Our goalkeeper played well but that is what he is paid to do. We scored twice at Anfield, that has to be worth something.
Stop bleating and get on with CL because that's all your manager is interested in.
Come on Chelski.
