David Ferrer

David Ferrer has enjoyed a meteoric rise up the ATP rankings over the past couple of years and is ready to answer your questions.

He is currently at a career-high number five in the world, and reached the US Open semi-finals after a stunning win over Rafael Nadal in New York last September.

This week, the Spaniard is in Rotterdam to play in the 35th ABN AMRO World Tennis Tournament against an all-star field that includes Nadal, Novak Djokovic, Jo-Wilfried Tsonga and Britain's Andy Murray.

The tournament, which is directed by former Wimbledon champion Richard Krajicek, starts on Monday.

The deadline for sending your questions in to David Ferrer has now passed. We will post the answers later this week.

David I wish you all the best throughout the 2008 season. I think you are such a tenacious player on court and one of the most interesting players to watch currently. I notice you always wear a whale fin pendant. Does this signify anything?

Hi David, it was very enjoyable to see you in such great form last year. I was especially impressed with the power and accuracy of your forehand from the baseline!

I remember in your previous seasons you struggled to make a serious impact on the tour, and it wasn't until last year that you really distinguished yourself as a genuine top ten player.

I wanted to ask, did you make any radical adjustments to your game which enabled you to play so much better, or was it just that you felt much more relaxed and confident when you were playing?

Hi David, Congratulations on a wonderful year last year, you were a joy to watch and I love your fighting spirit it is just an inspiration. I hope you have another fantastic year and we can see you again in Shanghai.

My question is :- All the Spanish players seem very friendly with each other, is that right & if so who is your best friend on the tour?
