Ern (U3560066) posted Feb 26, 2008 Gravy Train 'Inevitable really. I don't see how the Spaniards can keep getting away with it though. Monkey chanting in the football, Luis Aragones racist comments about Thierry Henry and now this. It shouldn't be isolated to just one sport. Everything should be taken into account and it's happened too many times now for it to be classed as "The Minority" of Spanish people.'..............................You are SPOT ON!!

scaffoo (U8927446) posted Mar 1, 2008 I must say I do find Alonso's comments in the tabloids disturbing. He apparently said that Hamilton brought the racial abuse upon his own head by Spanish fans because he fell out with Spains no.1 sports personality. So, why did the fans not just comment on Hamiltons perceived arrogance or lack of sporting behaviour, or whatever other problem they had with him. What then, does it have to do with the colour of his skin? The plain fact is that if racism is perceived as acceptable punishment by Alonso, there truly is an inherrent problem in Spain. Kick them out of motorsport and football, as this is a manifest problem in these two sports for a start. Comment on this article |
