lsabre (U1743466) posted Feb 11, 2008 Personally, I feel that both Christine Ohuruogu and Nicola Sanders stand a strong chance of medalling in Beijing, look poised to improve a great deal on last year and have very sensibly given the indoor term a miss. Apart from Sanya Richards, they are second to none else and the American is also troubled with the Bechets syndrome, which makes her a liability at major champs where rounds are involved. As a matter of fact, I reckon that one of the two British girls will land inside 49 secs this season...

Droitrob (U8543613) posted Feb 12, 2008 Early season results from indoors are good, and some surprises amongst them to. Add to that a number of athletes coming back from injury then the whole outlook does look promising as regards to success. Wouldn't say individually who will medal, but look towards the heptathlon, decathlon, 3 out of the 4 relays, womens 400m, mens and womens middle and long distances too. I do feel that GB could spring a surprise in one of the sprints to. Away from the track the mens jumps all look full of promise as does the womens javelin on last years form. Come the outdoor season we will be able to tell more but having read whats been said so far about warm weather training and seeing the indoor results and yes i'm more than optimistic.
