The Players got him sacked

Now that Dowie's gone its must be evident that its the players causing this manager merry go round. We need commited players who play for the shirt, not play for a contract mentality then laze for the remainder which seems to be evident in a few players. I personaly would like to see a good passing football coach brought in not the long ball merchants any longer.

There is an alternative view about things.Might be good for his cv.Having been relegated to Lg1 it would have been worse. Now he can talk about a lot of things and excuses

Dowie did not deserve to get sacked, however if the board were going to sack him surely then they should have done it before the transfer window closed, then whoever came in would have an opportunity to buy in a few players to improve the team,as i mentioned though its not dowies fault hes got sacked and i feel hes been very hard done by, unfortunately this is a results orientated environment and besides the cup wins we havent been getting the results.
Let hope whoever comes in can get the best from the players to avoid relagation and push on for next season...
Oh dear there goes another wasted season, when are we going to learn that you need consistancy to get anywhere in football and sacking managers when they have been in the job for less than a year is not the correct way to run a football club...

You maybe right but he keeps picking players and playing them in wrong positions, we all havent got the luxury of 3 or 4 players to cakll on for that position

The Guardian Fiver makes a good observation

"in an executive booth at an
intensive full-body tanning salon somewhere in sarf London, a
disturbingly orange egomaniac with lank blond hair is cackling
horribly behind his tiny blue goggles."

Jimmy Calderwood. He has a great record getting aberdeen into the last 32 of the UEFA cup on a very tight budget. Perhaps he could be the man to turn round our fortunes. We only have to look at how well the Scotch managers have done at Plymouth, Everton and Billy Davies when he was at Derby

Shame really think he was ok,the players let him down, but as so many players now think they control the universe with stupid behaviour and poor performance,in the real world if you dont do your job prop you get the sack,it amazes me as players are protected by contracts im sure if a few got the sack they would soon buck their idea`s up....ITS ALL GONE STIR CRAZY

well there are some good players in the team, doyle, mifsud and im sure that if convetry invest money in defense they can climb up the league, and i really don't think coventry will get relegated if they have a little talk and show their feelings
