Just to say as a lifelong Red, all the Blues should be proud of themeselves for a fantastic response to the minutes silence. I was truly moved and from all reds, thank you. Would i be saying the same if it was Liverpool? I think not. Well done City fans.

A general reply to those who don't understand why City fans should be praised is; prior to the actual event City fans were getting completely unwarranted bad press about how they were going to interupt the silence. The result was everyone expected City to have at least 1 or 2 idiots there to disrupt proceedings, I'm glad City fans proved all the pre-match-slanderous-critics completely wrong.

City's fans showed absolute class - it was an uplifting day for the club, the city of Manchester and the legions of decent football fans in the UK (i.e. about 99per cent of us).

City battered united like a cod fish, we crushed thier supporters hearts like a strawberry gets crushed in a milkshake maker.

we outplyed them in every part of the pitch, yet no one united supporter, player or staff would admit that we were the better team. all you hear: we lost because we ere tired from internationals, we lost because the event was too emtional, etc......

But hey what would expect from the typical arrogant united.

Am over the moon, not just for wining derby day or for PUTING A SERIOUS DENT TO THE TITLE HOPE, or the respect City fans shown during the one minute, but because City proved they can win top games playing clean football without the need of psychological games or intimidating referres or DIVING.

WELL DONE CITY.

WOULD THE REAL MARK LAWRSON COME OUT AND EAT HIS WORDS FOR PERDICTING 3 0.

I think Mark Lawrenson has had City finishing below Derby judging by Lawro's predictions each week!

thanks for all the praise but remembering the dead is important.
and we reminded all the reds how to support your team which seemed to be a lost cause on sunday for utd never will a derby game be remembered for the wrong reason as will sundays.
it was a shame that a few shamless reds remained outside sporting for trouble.
didnt react or see any blue reaction to provocation.well done city on a great game well worth the 30 year wait more please!!!!
city till i die

drglick:

I think that comment is unfair and I find it pretty offensive. As a Liverpool fan I am sure we would have respected the silence just as City did. The same way we would expect you or any other team to observe a minutes silence for Hillsborough.

The silence isn't about which team you support, it's about remembering those who tragically lost their lives for football.

if it wasnt for the gutter press and some united message boards going on about city fans braking the minutes silence for weeks before the game there would have been no need for pleas before the game as a blue i knew that city fans would respect the dead it just a shame that some united fans decided to ebay their scarves making money from a tradgedy
