Adebayor on 18 PL Goals

Premier League Arsenal
comment on the article

Last season Drogba emerged as top scorer in the Premier League with only 20 goals. Admittedly he did not take penalties so this tally would have been higher, but still Adebayor is on 18 and it is the 2nd of February so it is highly likely he will surpass Drogba's tally for last season.

I'm not saying Adebayor is the best striker in the league or that he's better than Drogba, but he looks well on his way to becoming a top class player and is potentially one of the best strikers in Europe.

Just goes to show that once again Wenger Knows what he's doing when he didn't spend big money on a striker to replace Henry last season.

ronaldo has also played as a striker in a few games or has rotated into that position throughout course of a game. man utd from 4 or 5 switch continuously.

Henry was brill, Ade is brill and will score way over 30 this yr a fink so will ronaldo
but ronaldo never plays as a team player goes for glory always n hell always cry wen he sees KAKA whos ten times the player he is and u always see ronaldo on the floor cryin for a free kick. He ruining the game by diving and thats one fing i hate in a player. I say if u cant hack it then dont play He gets 120,000 a week for playin well not divin n being arrogant. Messi Kaka Henry n Eto'o r better than comes ronaldo

This is what I said about 'Bayor back in November when there seemed to be an 'anti-adebayor' movement going on among Gooners on 606....

Adebayor definitely has a great first touch (as anybody who actually watches football matches will know). He plucks the ball out the air excellently, receives passes well and generally sets himself up for shots well.

As for his other attributes, he’s strong, holds the ball up well and plays well with other strikers / forwards. He can also run at defenders and isn’t a slouch in terms of pace either. He’s also probably our only striker who can be used as a ‘target man’ if called for, although I know that this is not the style of football we usually play.

Yes he does miss chances, as do all strikers, but so far he is top of the league in the scoring stakes and has definitely improved on his performances last year. So what we have is a young striker who is improving and who is scoring goals, doesn’t seem like a problem to me!

Another myth I can’t stand to hear is the ‘he’ll need 10 chances to score 1’ nonsense or ‘he’s a poor man’s Andy Cole’. A good striker needs to get into the right position in the first place. At the moment he provides a more potent threat than Walcott (who himself is improving).

He’s by no means the finished article to me, but he IS improving and brings an extra dimension to our attacking play. I’m not so blinkered that I can’t recognise his deficiencies, but he is under the tutelage of AW and PR, who have successfully nurtured more young talent than most."

AW proved right once again, and he's shaped up even faster than I thought he would, and he'll still get BETTER!

Yeah!!! Adebayor is playing good but still lacking killer instinct and still he misses a lot. If he can utilise his opportunities he gets, he can easily do hattrick in every game. BUT DEFINITELY HE HAS IMPROVED HUGE. What he still lacks is the control on the ball- still not good enough and sometime he loses balls quite easily. Hope he will improve those parts as well to become the best.
* Fabregas plays cool but when he is near to the goalpost he sees it twice of its size. He just lost his goal scoring form he had in the start of the season....i wish he take his time and place the ball where it suppose to be place(net)

*Eduardo is definitely good, no doubt about that.....he needs more of 90mins of play. And he should play more at the left

They are all good for now......but what about if there's injuries(as some month ago)....any good replacement??? Sometimes, i see Wenger as a stingy manager, he suppose to buy atleast one midfielder(since he can't keep Diarra) and one defender......Wenger please stop gambling.....

TRUST ARSENE
how many pple can honestly say that they knew most of our squad before they came to us???

what do u want from arsene??? to buy losers like anderson and nani for 30mil???

i would love a massive signing like eto or kaka, but il settle for arsenes signings

Adebayor is simply the new Henry.
He scores an unbelievable amount of goals and contibutes the most in every game.
without Adebayor I think Arsenal would really struggle for goals

of course we would struggle for goals, so would United without Ronaldo.
Every team have their best player and he is not our best player. I would say Hleb is, then fabreas then flamini, then clichy then toure then sagna then adebayor then gallas then eduardo. Players I think we could easily do without at the moment is Rosicky, Diaby, Gilberto, Walcott

Why lie he's feeling it. scoring 9 games in a row, well in. Hey whats this Ronaldo blah blah? Adebayor is a striker and he's scorching them week in week out. He's handling the business like no other, take a chill pill and enjoy this....
