Fantastic Buisness...

Premier League Portsmouth
comment on the article

....buying Defoe and selling Benjani. I applaud Harry Redknapp.

To get £6.5 million for someone who is still a very limited player (although he is playing with a lot of confidence) and replace with one of Englands best strikers is brilliant.

Terrible for City fans though...

good move for defoe and as a spurs fan really gutted to see him go. I do think the fans have always been behind defoe while he was with us despite being frustrated sometimes, maybe would have been nice if he had come out and said a small thanks to them?

great move. Now Defoe needs to perform to the top of his ability or else fans will get frustrated.

Defoe had lots of chances at Spurs, and scored lots of goals as well. If you check his appearences (not just as a wonder-sub either) you'll see he has started many games for Spurs. It would have been brilliant if he stayed at Spurs, but with his ability he does deserve to be a player who is one of the first players on the team sheet. I wish him great luck for the future, and don't look forward to seeing him from the perspective of the other team. I think it's unfair to say Spurs treated him badly.

did you see celebrity !!! find a place in the sun staring JD ?
The Wag tagging along he kept calling her Babe so i dont know or care what her real name was . Her mother was the other (celeb??) on show. Everytime Babe phoned JD to tell him how she was getting rid if his millions, Mom said Wow, this is the only word this celeb uttered and she did this ten tines. Fantistic comedy best Ive seen for ages, good luck with plonkers like this to you pompeyites. And as JD says go for it babe, ps she,s ditched him since.

A huge mistake by Spurs to sell him. He is a quality player and I am just frustrated he decided to join Pompey instead of Villa. Pompey will recoup his transfer fee in no time with him up front. Berbatov is a better all round striker, but Defoe is better than any other striker spurs have. Keane might have 11 goals this season, but he isn't as natural a striker as Defoe. You can see the difference when they are on the ball. Ask any defender and I bet you they would take Keane on than Defoe any day.

Spurs fans are delusional. Only three years ago when chelsea wer after him yous were begging the board not to let go off him, now yous are saying bent is worse than him and yous are glad to see the back of him???

----------------------------------------------------

It's easy to post this kind of thing if you're going to gloss over the facts. If you'd bothered to read earlier posts you'll see that the majority of Spurs fans are sad to see Defoe leave.

But the fact is that Keane and Berbatov are a class act together and Bent was a big money signing who needs his chance.

Three years ago we didn't have Berbatov did we?!?

-------------------------------

Sorry but most Spurs fans here said they were glad he was gone and a whiner. Should not have generalised what I was saying to all spurs fans

I just think he is a fantastic player, more complete than Bent and I think he will do an Anelka and go to one of the big 4. I may b wrong though

Rubbish, most Spurs fans on this site cannot even write a 3 letter word without mispelling it, so how come you can tell they support Defoe leaving?

I can spell, and read and write, and I think we made a huge error selling him.

Defoe a whiner?! Jesus if you think he's a whiner god knows what you think of the other premier league players! He has been sat waiting to break into the spurs first team for the last few years, constantly told he's is manager's plans so that he stays, and gets bugger all for it!

Good luck Defoe, good little player but unfortunately not good enough to touch berbatov and keane's partnership (which is not something to be ashamed about) ok
