Personally this just shows how far we come in recent seasons...

Also Curtis Davies is in it, fair play to him obviously Capello see something in him!!!

It's a sign of poor state of our international team that there are 5 average players from an average team in the squad of 30.
Why not go the whole hog and bring in the particuarly bad Reo-Coker ??

As a Villa fan and Season Ticket holder I am so proud to have 5 players named in the England squad. Credit to Martin O'Neil as well. But as an England fan do I believe Agbonlahor and Young are ready for the senior squad, I'm not so sure. I would have preferred them in the U21's for a little longer. International football is very different from Premiership action and the U21's is a great learning curve for players hoping to make it into the international scene. These young stars represent a new "Golden Age" lets not ruin them by fast tracking them to quickly into the senior squad. Just a reminder to all Villa fans, what happens to our season if some of our lads come back injured. Where's the back up in the Villa team?

Well done to Aston Villa and Martin O'Neill - and perhaps Nigel Reo-Coker can start to realise now that he's not as special as he thinks he is, as the rest of his team-mates have been called up!

Rusty, Ashley is as ready as he'll ever be. In the training sessions last time he was skinning Micah Richards in the practice drills.

Despite his experience Gabby can still appear very raw. This call up will either move his whole game forward (which would be fantastic for us) or if he plays and gets exposed it could knock him back a bit confidence wise.

I'm pleased & proud. Just a bit worried that club performances will suffer as a consequence of international duties. Gabby is, I feel, most vulnerable: Davies not at all vulnerable...he's as strong as an ox. The upside is that they'll be better able to cope with our overdue entry into UEFA.

Look at this Villa youngster on Youtube. Taught by Birmingham Brazilian Soccer schools and now plays for Academy. Kids in this country are just as able as kids from other countries they just need a lot of practice. Technique and skills can be taught.

Villa are lucky to be near Birmingham Brazilian soccer schools because they are producing kids with very good levels of skill.

Skyblue1987 its laughable that u cannot give the rightfully deserved praise to villa players! perhaps something to do with being a cov fan? where ur biggest achievement this season has been being able to get rid of adebola?! Nice, ashley young is at the top of the assist chart in the premiership! average...i think not! and agbonlahor has scored seven league goals this season 3rd most for ANY english player! get a life and stop disrepecting players just because they play for a rival team!!

curis davies in the england sqaud?
ive seen the lad play on numerous occasions for west brom and i dont particuarly rate him, what he has got is pace and reads the game well but in terms of technical abilty he is found wanting, you take away the lads pace and he struggle to make it in the premiership ,

im a liverpool fan! We only have 2 players in there unfortunately.
I have always had a soft spot for yourselves though and this is great news IMO, hopefully they wont get too big for their boots though as im sure MON would bring them back down to earth. Basically, well done guys and Reo Coker is better than Carrick by the way so was unlucky to miss out
