Not bad for saying he is a free signing, great experience but obvioulsy not our long term solution. For saying gary cahill has been banded about at 4.5 million a free like Stubbs is a good bit of business!

You've got yourself a fantastic player there, and i say that through sadness. He was a consistent performer whenever he was called upon.

I'm just curious as to how Moyes intends to fill this void? we're a little short of cover at Centre-back with Yobo in Africa.

unless he plans to call on young Rodwell again?

What is going on???
We now have only two centre backs in the current squad. Imagine if lecott got injured.

Great signing for you, but y did u get him 4 free??

If you mean in January we've signed (either permanently, on loan or short term contracts):

Alan Stubbs
Roy Carroll
Laurent Robert
Rob Savage
Dan Mills
Emanuel Villa
Hossam Ghaly

He's 36 and got an 18 month contract and a chance to finish his career playing 1st team football. Maybe Moyes didn't want to stand in his way as thanks for the good work he did at Everton. Sometimes life isn't all about 'me me me'.

As I understand it he was 4th choice and you've another centre half available after the ANC.

Really surprised Moyes let him go with Everton so short of cover at CB. Always did a solid job and i've no doubt he will continue to do so. Hopefully when his contract expires, he'll be back at Everton in a permanent coaching role. Top player and top man though and hope he serves his new club as well as he served the Blues!

It looks like you've signed Gardner from Spurs on loan as cover.

redsince99-fair play lad, u know a hell of alot more than these derby fans do. They're not even in double figures yet, and i think the odds are 20/1 for them to saty away from double figures for the rest of the season.

Good signing but wasn't the experience of Andy Todd supposed to shape things up abit? Look how that has turned out!! All I can say is that I do hope that we cement the defence up and stop those leaks.

stubsey and carrol are good signings. PJ is steadily begining to chip at the old squad he has now created a new spine for the team goalie
center half midfield and center foward.keep at it pj we have faith.
