Have just seen the new French 15 to play scotland on Sunday. Must say I am fairly excited about the 4 new caps and team as a whole. It is good to see new faces Malzieu, Faure and Trinh-Duc have been playing very well for clubs and I hope to see open running rugby from us this year.

i would like to ask if you agree with selection, and if this selection has made you worry or laugh!!!!
team is below

15 Heymans
14 Malzieu
13 Fritz
12 Traille
11 Clerc
10 Trinh-Duc
9 Elissalde
8 Vermeulen
7 Dusautoir
6 Ouedraogo
5 Jacquet
4 Nallet (capt)
3 Brugnaut
2 Servat
1 Faure

As a stern French supporter I can only see this team being slaughtered. They will do good if they win two matches (Scotland, Italy). Fair enough the coach is throwing some new blood in the mix but he has completely lost his marbles not picking Martin, Nyanga, Poitrenaud to mention three. Nevermind, this is why this bunch is so predictable innit?
The forwards will be annihilated by the English for one, the backs can have a go though, but they wont have any ball.
Its going to be a disaster this campaign and it will make the rest look good.
Watch out for Italy!! NIck Mallet is a genius!

i really think Beauxis is the future of this team and should be starting, he had a blinder at the world cup, the next Dan Carter i think

Coming from a Vietnamese perspective, it's great to see François Trinh-Duc in the French lineup. Due to his heritage, I hope that the sport will get boosted up in Vietnam, no-one knows anything about the sport when I went back there.

But Congratulations to all of them but I think first 3 games will show if Fritz is being missed. He's a good Centre but I think Traille is still there to influence the team so it shouldn't be too much of a problem

With so many changes in the squad you have to say Scotland stand a chance at an upset.

Just looked at the team again, Even if Trinh-Duc is in the squad, coming from a rugby perspective I think Beauxis should start anyday - I don't follow Top 14 but from what I've seen in internationals he has alot of potential so I think it's crzy not including him.

And also Yannick Nyanga? He is definately a quality player and just 24 he is going to be one of the best flankers in coming years. How didn't he get selected? Surprising...

Give us a break with Beauxis !!!!!!!!!!!

He is just back to competition after long term injury: HE CAN NOT BE IN THE SQUAD YET.
But of course he is one of the promising fly halves for France. But so is Trinh-Duc and in a certain extent Fortassin who had fantastic games with Montauban...
And about back raws, of course Nyanga at some point will be back but there are so many guys who can pretend to it: "oldies" like Harinordoquy, Martin and Chabal but also "newbies" like Chouly, Picamoles, Burban or even Frier who is the archetype of "Captain Courage" with Bourgoin and before with Grenoble...
IMHO France need to find 4 new props (3 news for Scotland) and 4 second rows: will Nallet go to 2011? Will Thion be back to his best level? who else? Milo-Chlusky? Jacquet? Picamoles? Mela?
For the rest, we need to find a couple of other world class fly halves and full back as we can't always rely on Skrela and Poitrenaud... And Beauxis will surely be in the lot....

Their squad looks strong, particularly as the majority of players are from their leading clubs Toulouse, Clermont and the up and coming Montpellier. If they play to their traditional strengths - dynamic, running rugby - they will be hard to beat and are probably favourites to win the tournament again.

to be honest, lacks experince and depth and will get beaten by the Irish and English. Possibly even the Welsh!!!

p.s. Trinh-Duc is very good though, excellent choice
