Macca's Back.......!League One Leeds United by kk_white (U8199600) 29 January 2008 Wasn't sure who I wanted to see take over (as long as it wasn't Basset), but when I just read Macca's name as new boss, I let a scream out in the office! Latest 10 commentsRead members' comments or add your own

Who you expect would be banging down the door for the Leeds job??? Capello? Scholari? No I'd be thankful for Gary Mac if I were you. posted Jan 31, 2008 Pauldleeds - "mrnoneofyourbusiness - I disagree. Commitment is just as, if not more important than ability."

The fact that Leeds have now appointed a 'legend' rather than spending money on an experienced top-level manager capable of getting in the Premiership is short-sightedness. Commitment alone is worthless. When ability breeds commitment - then you're in business.

Leedsthrundthru (U10954505) posted Jan 31, 2008 I can't believe all those 'Leeds' fans already finding something to have a go about Macca. I am old enough to remember a certain D.Revie taking over back in the 60's the rest is history. As I recall he had not much experience but got us to be one of the top teams in Europe. Give Macca a chance

yorky55 (U10945760) posted Jan 31, 2008 as a leeds fan for over 43 years, i have seen many ups and downs. i have in the past also held a season ticket when i could afford it, but sadly now for me they are too expensive. why is it then that i dont have the same excitement about gary mcallister. why is it so great to have him at the helm? just because he used to play for leeds doesnt mean he will be great for us. bremner was a hero as a player eddie gray likewise and allan clarke the list rolls on but they didnt make good managers, if any former player should have been recruited then maybe strachan was my choice, also for those of you who hate people because they played for other clubs eg chelsea and man u get a life
