This Oz team is now written off

International Tests India

Tendulkar’s positive play ensures continuance of India’s resurgence to dethrone the Australians like never before.
Every thing seems to be going right for India. What with Anil calling correctly for a second time in a row. That has kind of sealed the fate of Oz as they now need to bat last on this wicket that will help spin. And they let go the Indians and allowed them to score over 300 already. In the first two tests Oz avoided playing the last innings despite having good bowling conditions on day one of both tests. This defensive mind set and avoidance to play 4th innings, has thrown them into dumps in the 3rd and now the 4th test.
Wow! what a century by the little master blaster. It was a live lesson to many youngsters watching. No text book can teach on how to bat better. He looked the same as he was when he first visited Australia. And he sent a warning bell to the Oz that he will still be in the team on its next tour down under. Why not, he has gone a full circle and now is back to what he was as a school boy touring Oz.
Darvid and Gangs looked like they have saved their energy for the 2nd innings and I expect these two to blast a century each. Gangs was playing very well. The problem is he considers Hogg very elementary and throws away his wicket to this guy. He should learn a bit from Sachin on how to milk Hogg.
The Oz attack looked mediocre and has sounded of the alarm bells for ACB to rethink on how to solve this bowling weakness. Add to this the brittle middle order that has been consistently brought down by Indian rookies with amazing consistency. And what with Gilly and Hayden dropping sitters the fielding vows are not far off from dragging this Oz to its worst depths of horror in days to come. Reflection on batting, bowling and fielding is the immediate priority if Oz want to continue their dominance of test cricket. A good team is one which when challenged stands up, takes notice, thinks deep, raises its performance and comes back to win. Punters team lacks all these characteristics. The way of going about is, get McGrath and Warne back. Sack Pointing and get Gilly in. Get a new opener or Langer back and reconstruct the team that once knew never to lose. That is the only winning mantra for this Oz team.
India have squared this series which they could have easily won.

That is a prefect assessment and though I have been criticized for my article as blatant and biased, I somehow felt what is going to happen today on the same lines as it actually happened. I wished sachin would have got his 200 though.

Now at this stage India have a lot at stake. And Anil Looks determined to deliver.

The motivation and confidence afer getting 500+ is high.

And this Indian team is no more a push over and so we cannot compare it with the English. The English lacked self belief. This Indian teams has abundance of it. That is the difference.

I forgot to add that the English had the best side to beat Oz down under. The thing lacking was experience besides self belief.

I am confidant the Ashes are not going to be easy for the Oz any more.

I will be writing when it happens.

Well done vinod.

Heard of irony much? You don't seem capable of spotting fairly obvious sarcasm.

Every over-opinionated English fan was giving that assessment in 2006, and their hopes did not manifest.

You wax lyrically with comical hyperbole from such an arrogant, one sided point of view - you are the perfect encapsulation of why these boards are not about cricket, rather fervent nationalism and all its ugly manifestations.

Do you actually think people consider your droolings to be anything other than this? Grow up.

mascos,

Well said you saved me a post without having to go for my dictionary, thankyou!!!

As for Vinod thinking everyone will be waiting for his post when the ashes comes around??? "who-cares"

we all know the ashes is the pinacle for cricket and because they aren't included in the mix he is a bit peeved!!!!

Cheers mate!!!

This article is piece of crap. Just one victory and Indian fans are so arrogant. We dont have any moral right to question Aussie attitude after winning 16 games in a row.

One way Australian fans and sensible writers on this planet can stop such things is by not reacting to the childish comments and just focus on good cricket.

Indian tail wagged and it was nice to see that.

Australian reply is also very nice.

I hope tomorrows day is bit boring if Australians also bat the same way - but then it will also set-up some interesting magic on 4th and 5th day.

Finger crossed.

Australian bowlers were in good form.

Three scored well deserved centuries, but one just missed, Stuart Clark.

Poor fellow!!
