very disappointed Roy Hodgson wasnt approached - his international record is impeccable

==============================

Hodgson couldn't manage a flea circus. He hasn't proved himself internationally at all. Watch him get Fulham relegated

Personally I don't care if they take another month or two - all that matters is that we get the right guy. To me Capella was the number one - if you want qualification - if you want sexy, fast entertaining try some of the other giggolos around but if yoiu want to actually get to a finals you need someone who has a proven track record - also they need to have been working up to very recently.
With that in mind and looking at the choices that we are being given - to me there is only one clear winner - Deschamps. He did it at Monaco, quickly followed it up at Juventus by getting them back to Serie A - won the championship by a mile - clever, uncompromising and a medal hlder himself. So , Honchos in Dublin - get your act together - you made a dogs dinner of the last two appointments - you really need to get this one right!

WE didn't make any dog's dinner. It was John Delaney's fault. We were promised a 'world class manager'. We got Stan...

None of the above but if I had to pick one it would probably be Deschamps. Would prefer to see someone like Martin O'Neill, Hodgson or the like.

Big Sam is the man to lead Ireland he has the fight and comittment. Players respect him. Newcastle were mad to let him go before he had a chance to sort out the mess there. Give him a go he knows all the players and their strengths. Terry venerables was here in Oz and screwed up He should go selling cars he might be better at that
