Africa Cup of Nations - Day Four

African Nations Cup
by Paul Fletcher (U1816326) 23 January 2008
comment on the article

The action moves north today, with both Wednesday's Nations Cup fixtures taking place in the steamy city of Tamale.

I actually visited the place a couple of years ago and spent most of my time trying to find some shade and an internet cafe that allowed me to send more than one e-mail per millennia.

Two cracking fixtures for us, with Tunisia against Senegal first up. This match-up got very tasty indeed when they met in 2004 and I'm hoping for more of the same today.

South Africa are awful at the moment - FACT. They play Angola in the later fixture and plenty of people seem to think that the Palancas Negras could upset a few people along the way in this tournament.

What I want from you lot today is to know whether you think one of the teams in action today can go all the way.

And plenty of good Cup of Nations banter to enliven the clockwatch, which you can follow here:

news.bbc.co.uk/sport1/hi/foo...

Enjoy.

The playing is the same as any other football tournament. I don't know what you mean by inconsistency?

paul fletcher at 2118: I kind of like the Angola keeper, that element of the unknown.

yep, very much like his "surname's sake Lama (bernard Lama)!

South Africa miss king benni and they know it!

Too much inexperience
Benni McCarthy is the best striker they have!

Does every team in this group want to draw each game so they all go through? They do know it does not work like that.

I fancy Guinea for this one. Not a huge team, I admit, but they looked good against Ghana and I think that attack of theirs is really going to shine through here. 2-0 Guinea, I say.
